Aaron Heyer's cancer battle fund

As many of our sister and brother in laws friends and family know, our brother in law Aaron Heyer has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cancer (kidney cancer) and it has been confirmed that he had a grapefruit sized tumor on his kidney that needs to be removed ASAP. After several months of testing, two cat scans, an ultra sound, MRI & several specialists visits it has been confirmed our families worst fear, cancer and now we know it has spread to his lymph nodes and cannot be cured. The doctors at Mass General Hospital are moving fast and today 1/24/2017 Aaron will undergo major surgery to remove his kidney along with the cancerous tumor and any other surrounding organs that may have been impacted. The team of doctors will also investigate and complete further testing to ensure the cancer did not spread to other parts of his body. We are praying for a quick and easy battle however will have more information once the surgery has been completed.
As Heather had mentioned, 2017 was supposed to be their year however it decided to have a bump in the road for them. Most of you know that they recently took in a 6 month old baby boy (Max) as a foster child in hopes to adopt him in the very near future. We are hoping that this does not set back any of that process and want their growing family to continue to not have to worry about the financial stress and focus on the medical issues only that this universe has brought upon them.
Unfortunately Heather carries the health insurance for the family which has an extremely high deductible & coinsurance. Based on the surgery alone they will max out their yearly out of pocket expenses of $6500 and most likely continue to incur this yearly as Aaron will need on-going care & treatments through the Mass General Hospital cancer center to ensure he has the best chances to fight this battle handed to them. Aaron will continue to be monitored closely by cancer specialists to ensure he lives a long and cancer free life.
Heather & Aaron are not the type to ever ask for any financial help and therefore as their family we are taking it upon ourselves to try and help them as much as we can by bringing this community of friends together to assist in any way. We are asking for your help in any way possible to relieve the financial stress of trying to save a loved one. Aaron is a father, a husband, a friend, a brother, a uncle, a son, a grandson, and he is going to be a CANCER SURVIVOR! We are staying positive and hope everyone else will keep him and his family in your prayers.
