Off-Leash Dog Park in Chinatown's Aala Park

Thanks to the unbelievable generosity of American Savings Bank and their amazing leadership team, the awesome nonprofit Hui ‘Ilio Hawai‘i and members of our community, we have exceeded our fundraising goal! We are excited to move forward with the park and will keep you posted on our construction progress. We are continuing to accept donations for general maintenance and future additions to the park. Help us build a dog park in Chinatown Honolulu's Aala Park. Let's create a place for dogs to run and play freely, while improving an underutilized park for our community.

About the Park
Our plans include two separate sides for small and large dogs, covering just under 10,000 square feet. The dog park will be located in a central area of Aala Park, bordered by an existing concrete walkway with plenty of shade from nearby trees.
We have secured our official Building Permit from the City and County of Honolulu and the completed drawings for the park. We are working with a fencing and concrete masonry contractor who has estimated the project at just over $40,000. Right now, we have a $25,000 Bark For Your Park grant award from PetSafe Brand and a $5,000 grant from American Savings Bank. American Savings Bank will also match the additional $5,000 we raise here on GoFundMe. We just need $5,000 more to start building! Please help us make the dog park a reality!

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization made up of 5 community members and 4 neighborhood dogs. We look forward to having an off-leash dog park within walking distance of our pet-friendly apartment buildings.
