AAAS Give Science a Voice Ride
What we are doing:
I would like to raise money for AAAS. They are a great organization responsible for publishing the magazine Science. Importantly, they are in DC advocating for the funding and use of rigorously obtained information.

Why we are raising money for AAAS:
Today, advocates need money to be heard by our representatives. To that end, I would like to raise some money for these scientific advocates, AAAS.
Starting in San Diego, we are going to bike north:
1 mile for every $5 I raise
That is about: $500 - 100 miles (to LA), $1,000 - 200 miles (to Santa Barbara), $3,500 - 800 miles (to San Francisco) and $10,000 - 2000 miles ( to Seattle).

We want to start planning for the ride so we will stop increasing the mileage at San Fransico. Please continue donating but understand, we will be riding from San Diego to San Fransico regardless of the money we raise.

I would love to do any of these rides but I would be happier to do them while supporting an essential and underappreciated institution like AAAS
I would like to add that 100% of donations will go directly to the AAAS Office of Government Relations. These are the folks responsible for interfacing with congress.
