Hello! My name is Kyana and I am someone who knows what it is like to see not only family and friends, but myself deal with mental illness. I want to help people find ways of coping in a time of distress.
My goal with this project is to send others who are struggling with mental illness around the US a free to them recovery box. Within the box will be a variety of interactive items and activities. With these items and activities they will help the person calm down and focus on something non-destructive while bad feelings subside or until a situation has deescalated.
The money donated to this project will be used to cover the cost of the items and activites, as well as the shipping. I am also looking for companies to donate small items such as, stress balls, cards, bath products, and any art supplies.
This project means so much to me. Shortly after the hospitalization of a close friend for mental illness I created a recovery box from them. With the box it kept them on track to recovery and let them know that others cared. I want others to feel the same way as my friend did.
