DJ's Fight

Donation protected
DJ is an Instructor and a friend to the students of Impact Martial Arts in Walpole, Massachusetts. In August, two weeks before he was to begin his freshman year of high school, DJ was diagnosed with Leukemia. He has since undergone a bone marrow transplant at Children's Hospital Boston where he has been a patient since being admitted there four months ago.  On December 20th the students and family members of Impact will do tens of thousands of push-ups in an effort to raise money for all the expenses related to DJ's illness including transportation and parking for family members to be with DJ and medical expenses.

DJ came to Impact as a 5 year old boy who was being teased in school. He learned that confidence and kindness can be effective tools in combating behavior we often call bullying. Since earning his black belt he spent every day after school and Saturdays passing that message on to other children.

In all the years we've known DJ I've never heard him ask for anything except how he could help out someone else. He has participated in fundraising for Early Intervention, the local Food Pantry other sick children and helped his dad do the demolition and renovation of a local families bathroom that had to be made wheelchair accessible.

DJ is an amazing young man who for the first time in his life needs the same help he's always been willing to give to others.
