A War Within - Stolen Vehicle Fund
The tour started off well, and we made it all the way to Texas before the transmission in our van died. There was no parts to repair it in the small town we broke down in and it would cost too much to transport it to a larger city in Texas. This van has already cost us twice as much in repairs as it is worth, so we decided to junk it. From here we rented a U Haul in order to not miss any shows, and made it to Turlock, California. Unfortunately, the U Haul and trailer were broken into, hotwired, and hijacked. We called the police and used the GPS in our trailer to track to a junkyard 10 miles away. The police engaged in a foot race with the theives, but they got away. The U Haul had been disconnected and was gone, but the trailer was still in the lot. Luckily, we were able to find some of our gear from the junkyard but $5000 in merchandise, musical equipment, and personal belongings were unrecovered. So with the remaining gear, we rented a second U Haul and began the trek to Portland overnight to start recording because we had already put up a non-refundable deposit for the studio time.
We have burned through all our money and all the avenues of borrowing money we have in order to stay afloat by renting two U Hauls to make it to Portland. We would have just put a link up to our website and requested our fans to buy our merch, but a large portion of our merch was stolen so we are asking for any kind of donation. All of us in the band have jobs we need to get back to in Detroit as soon as possible or we risk losing them. The money we recieve will be used for a new vehicle so we are able to leave Portland and head back home to Detroit in time for Christmas.
This means a lot to us because we are out of options and will be stranded in Portland until we can find a new vehicle. Additionally, if anybody is selling a vehicle, please reach out to us. Thank you so much for your time. We are very grateful for every person that has listened to our music, and we will do everything in our power to carry on from this and move forward.
A War Within
I'm sorry, Turlock sucks. I run a U-Haul location in Turlock, and someone stole one of our trucks off of our lot 2 nights ago. Actually, I'm pretty positive you guys called me last year and asked if we went and picked up your truck and trailer and I told you to call the police. Sorry this happened to you guys.
Trying to get it up to $3,000 before it ends.
