I’m a piano teacher who is looking to give the students I teach the best possible piano on which to learn – a Steinway.

MY STORY

The quality of an artist’s tools are of monumental importance, especially when it comes to teaching music. As a piano teacher to some 40 students, many of whom aspire to become professional musicians, I know that having the best equipment is essential to enhancing their learning experience and helping them develop and achieve their musical potential. That’s why I am seeking funding to purchase a Steinway piano for my teaching studio. #SteinwayForStudents 



WHY TEACHING CHILDREN
MUSIC IS SO IMPORTANT

As a music teacher, of course I believe that all children should learn an instrument, and it’s my ambition to dedicate my life to teach piano to those who are willing to learn.

Any artist or creative person needs to acquire the necessary professional skills and techniques of their craft as early as possible, ideally while they are still growing and developing as a human being. Once learned, those skills will continue to develop and be enhanced throughout their lives. Therefore, a strong and positive foundation is of great value from an early age.

 This thinking is backed-up by research which has revealed that studying music improves:

Language skills

Mathematics ability

Coordination

Reasoning

Intellect

Sensitivity

Imagination.

I really want to ensure that all the pupils I teach receive the very best learning experience. That is why I am seeking funding for buying a Steinway piano. These are truly outstanding instruments that will enable me to guide pupils toward the achievement of a higher level of musical understanding and enjoyment through studying the piano.

WHY I NEED YOUR HELP

Steinway & Sons have been making the world’s finest pianos for over 160 years. The look and sound of these meticulously handcrafted instruments really sets them apart from other pianos. And I truly believe that by learning on a Steinway, my pupils will receive amazing benefits that will inspire them to follow their dreams of becoming professional musicians.

Naturally, something as beautiful as a Steinway piano does not come cheap. This is why I am seeking funding to help me purchase a £30,000 Steinway piano on which to teach my pupils.

I aim to purchase the new instrument during the summer of 2019 and start using it to teach from September 2019.

 MORE ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Harry Nowakowski-Fox , a piano teacher, soloist, chamber musician and recording artist. I have performed in concerts, competitions and chamber music festivals in Austria, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the United States.

As well as teaching around 40 pupils per week from my studio in central London, I also take part in rehearsals with instrumentalists and singers, helping them prepare for concerts, exams and scholarship auditions.

I am determined to share my passion for music in general, and the piano in particular with students who are excited about learning music. That’s the inspiration behind my #SteinwayForStudents  crowdfunding campaign.

Being able to give piano lessons on a truly exceptional Steinway piano really will take the enjoyment my pupils experience and their understanding of music to another level.
