A New Life For Shadia

Shadia has lived a very brutal and difficult life in Africa because of her sexuality. 

In her young life so far she has faced horrific things that no person should ever have to deal with.  She has been raped and forced to survive on the streets with nothing to eat other than bath soap, and experienced many things she would rather forget, but yet has come through it all with grace and strength. 

Shadia is a true inspiration to me and has finally found safety thanks to the help of the amazing Refugee Coalition of East Africa who have arranged for her,  her young son and step-sister to find a new life here in the UK in Manchester.

Shadia is starting again, in a totally new country and has no networks, friends or family to rely on.  I want to show her that she has an LGBTQ family that will help her get onto her feet and find her new life full of  love, warmth and friendship here with us.

I have started this fundraiser to help her buy things she will need, to support her search for work, to help here first steps in building a life for her and her young son and to help take some of the immense pressure off her first weeks in the UK.
