A MacBook Pro for making my comics

(Sharing my comic book cover artwork with Marvel Comics icon, Stan Lee in 2015.)

Hello,

My name is Aaron D'Errico .

I'm a Stan Lee Foundation Artist , indie comic book writer, Ability Advocate and super-fan of Marvel Comics legend, Stan Lee, motivated by Stan’s encouraging words and altruistic actions after taking a writing workshop from him in 2008.

Currently I’m seeking a new Macbook Pro laptop with Apple Care, since my present one is declining while I'm working on a comic to give to Stan soon. It represents much of my life’s work so far.

Ever since Stan Lee, told me that he expects "Great Things!" from me in 2010, I've been striving to live up to his praise, despite physical, cognitive, personal and financial challenges after I was hit on my mobility scooter in 2011.

If for some amazing reason the funding goal for the computer is exceeded, any additional funds will go towards the production costs of making my comic book.

If you'd like to know more about my goal to achieve "Great Things!" with my work and characters in order to help many, read on.

The reason I've turned to crowdfunding like many indie comic book writer/artists is out of necessity because since the accident in 2011 I've been unable to work at my previous job at a hardware store or elsewhere, because of a series of complications from head injuries, instead getting by on Social Security Disability Income that fails to cover daily basic living expenses and rent, let alone a new computer.

As a writer and artist, a properly functioning computer is crucial to my work.  That's why I'm asking for $2,700 for a new computer that will enable me to complete a thank you comic dedicated to Stan Lee, who will be a spry 94 years young during his final appearance ever, at the Emerald City Comic Convention, in March, 2017, where I'll be thanks to  my dear friends, the Carmody's .

As shown in my LiveJournal contest entry for “Stan Lee’s Biggest Fan  contest”, Stan’s resiliency and that of his characters inspires me and my characters to make heroes that make a worthy difference.

That’s a big reason why my thank you comic serves as an origin story setting the blueprints for an empowering mythology that teaches how to turn pain into purpose  and challenges into triumphs, from lifelong experience doing so.

My Superhero, Ammon Walker, who overcomes Cerebral Palsy effecting his legs, featured in the national United Cerebral Palsy Newsletter.

With that comes the long-term goals of inspiring literacy, awareness , empathy and improved ability, in part by making superheroes beneficially practical after Stan Lee made his heroes relatable, characters that reinforced a drive to be responsibly industrious, striving to earn the title "The Unrelenting Aaron D'Errico ", given to me by Stan Lee and Talenthouse .

In a world of shortcuts and easy outs, the title is a badge of honor that fuels me to earn my success through positive persistence, rather than seeking a big payday after I was accidentally hit by a kind, honorable public servant.

Despite consistant urging from well meaning people close to me, I repeatedly refused to cash in big on the accident or take the life's work of a hero to make and publish my own.

The reason for that is that the driver earned their success and I'm determined to do the same, even if it means transcending foolish pride to ask for what I require to achieve my goals.

The only thing pride is good for is striving to make others proud and to all who contribute, I endeavor to do  that and more.

Thank you,

Aaron
