A La Mode Boutique Recovery Fund

To our shock, Ellicott City has suffered another deadly flood. A La Mode Boutique had only been reopened for just 6 weeks when this flood hit. After struggling for 21 months to return to Ellicott City following the 2016 flood, Amie and Chris have again lost so much. The first flood was a total loss to their store.  They fought incredibly hard and now are faced with another daunting task to recover. Even at the top of Main Street, the new space endured a lot of water and damage to many fixtures and product. Once again, they are having to start all over.

Amie and Chris are amazing additions to the community and donate so much of their time and energy to this great town. Please, consider giving back. Amie volunteers much of her time, not just to the business, but to the community with event planning, fundraising, and creating excitement and awareness for Main Street. She has loved this amazing town for over 20 years and wants to see it be a successful and fun place to visit.

Amie & Chris plan to give a portion of the funds raised to help support their staff that have also been affected by this tragedy.

From the bottom of their hearts, they appreciate everything the community has done for them over the last 3 years and they truly thank you for your support.

It's hard to believe that we are once again traveling down the road of fundraisers. We were so happy to finally be coming back to Ellicott City. It seemed like everything was "right" in the world. A beautiful new store, seeing old (and new) customers walking through the doors, and starting our next phase of Amie's dream, doing DIY workshops. The stars seemed to finally be aligning. In one moment, we were feeling so blessed and then the next, complete heartbreak. The rug was once again swept out from underneath of us. It felt like a cruel joke, a nightmare that just won't end. Is this really happening AGAIN?!

Now what?! Unfortunately, we know part of that answer. The difficult time of attending fundraisers. It is the only way to get the word out that we do need help. We hate to admit that we can't do this on our own and that we have to rely on the help of so many great people that plan amazing events like the one we attended last night. If it weren't for them, we would be lost. It is hard enough re-living the experiences of not one, but TWO floods in less than 2 years. But, to admit that we need support is not normally in our vocabulary. We are the ones that help others. We love giving to a community that is so carrying and supportive.

We couldn't be more thankful for everyone that came out last night to show their support for us and everyone else in Ellicott City. We are also very appreciative of everyone that helped plan such an incredible event in 10 short days! Thank you for allowing us to participate as we struggle to find what our next step is.

Please, continue to support all the fundraisers. These events are what is going to help businesses such as ours to recover from all the devastation over the past two years.

XOXOXO

Getting ready for round 3 of A La Mode Boutique. Our lovely little space doesn't look quite the same now. We've put so much blood, sweat, and tears into trying to come back to Ellicott City. Such a sad time for not just us, but for everyone in this amazing, quaint town.
