A HOME FOR ASHLEY LYON & HER FAMILY

                               DO  YOU REMEMBER?

When Ashley Lyon, 16, from Valrico, Florida, went missing in June 2014.  She was lured away by 41-year-old Steven Patrick Myers, who had been convicted twice of child molestation.  A  Amber Alert was put up for Ashley and she was spotted with Myers at a truck stop in Grosse Tete, Louisiana.  From there the nightmare began. Eventually law enforcement was able to stop Myers after a high speed chase leading them 40 miles from Lafayette, Louisiana. When law enforcement got to Ashley she was found alive but barely. Myer had stabbed her multiple times.  Have I jogged your memory?

My name is Dorothy Chase. (Those of you who work with the missing know me well) I am the grandmother of a grand daugter who  went missing. Because of this I decided to become a Advocate for the missing. I have talked with Michille Lyon often offering her support.
I am posting this campaign because from my heart I know of the great need that she has. I also know that she would never ask anyone for financial help.  Sadly right after Ashley was found Michelles 24 year marriage ended to Ashley's father.  He simply left and divorced her leaving her to take care of her 16 yr old  daughter who had gone through the unthinkable.  Leaving his daughter not only to deal with that but also his sudden departure. Michelle some how gathered up the emotional strength to deal with him because she knew she had to put her daughter first to help her heal from what Myers had done to her.  Ashely is now 19 years old, she has graduated high school and she has gotten a job.  All of this in less than three years since Myers stabbed her multiple times and put her within an inch of loosing her life. Yeah he hit some pretty bad organs.  Ashley had some wonderful doctors for sure but she has a wonderful mother who has held her together and she will continue to need to. There's a issue with the house.  It has to be sold. Michelle had made arraingements to be out of the home Febuary 1, 2017 using her tax return and money that she will get for college. Well her ex who has been harassing her and mentally beating her down pulled a nasty and had her served with papers from his lawyer that she has to be out by January 15th 2017 or go to jail. How could a father do this to his own daughter?

They need money to help to find a home to rent.  They can only afford $1000 a month then add in utilities and the fact that Ashley needs a place that is in a secure area. She absolutely has to feel safe. Rent is so high that a $1000 a month isn't going to find what they need.

Please even if it is only a dollar those dollars will add up. This family really needs our support. As far as Ashley's father.  Like I tell Michelle, If he doesn't get his here on earth, he will get it when he meets his maker....

The funds are needed ASAP.  People don't think about the aftermath for the victims and their families of the missing/abducted/lured. In this case Steven Patrick Myers has a warm place to sleep on a cot, three meals a day, and medical care.  Ashley Lyon's family is fighting to stay together and off the streets. Her father has left and her mother is holding on by a thread. To see them safe and having the home they need lets me know I paid it forward. They deserve so much more than to struggle for a safe and decent home. Ashley and her mother need to be able to go to bed at night and sleep without fear and in peace. They still have so much more healing to go though because of what Myer's did. They can't do this when they are struggling just to survive. I have one question to ask you. If this had happened to your daughter and you ended up alone to pick up all the pieces would you have been able to do so ?
