10 college kids. 6 close friends. One life changing night.
That's the basics of "A Hand Across the Bridge", a two-act play written by Jonathan G Galvez, premiering this summer in the Planet Connection Theatre Festivity at the Flamboyan Theater in New York, NY, this Summer!
As part of the festival, the show will be raising money for the Cohen Esophageal Cancer Initiative, in honor of the playwright's father, Felicisimo Galvez.
Here's the synopsis: A group of friends look back and relive their last days of college: the relationships, the heartbreak, the anxiety of the oncoming "real world" and the one night that changed their lives forever.
The production is directed by Kristen Keim and stars and ensemble cast featuring Alex Andrews, Josh Bartosch, Cassandra Borgella, Alanna DaChille, Lauren Gunn, Alice Hale, James Johnston, Kate Elaine Jones, Sam Lopresti, Devonte McCray, Jordan Merimee, Kat Moreno, and Canning Robb.
The producer is Theatrical Gems. The Production manager is Michael Hagins and the stage manager is Adam Sherwin. The production also features original musical by Anthony Serino and original graphics by Andrew Abbensett
WHAT WE NEED:
We are looking to raise funds to make this production the best it can be! From rehearsal spaces, to costuming, to set pieces, we're looking to raise as much as possible. Any money we raise but don't spend on the production will be donated to the Cohen Esophageal Cancer Initiative.
This play has been in the wings for over ten years and is the first play of The Bridge Series, a series of 16 plays written by Jonathan G Galvez. Other plays in the series have included "Thirty Minutes Or Less", "The Girl with her Hands in the Sand", "The Call of the Siren", and "A Life TBD" at the New York International Fringe Festival, "Crossing Lights" at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre, "Lost in the Crossing" featured in the Hollins University Festival of New Works, and "The Alice of Ward 13" at William Paterson University, where it named the winner of the NJ Playwrights Contest.
Every dime and donation helps. Helps us bring this play to life!
