A Caravan For A Homeless Writer
I am a writer, and since being evicted just after last year's referendum (my landlady was 'Remain', I was 'Leave') I have been living in a tent with my cat OscarWilde and my dog, Hemingway, moving from place to place. My story is best told in the interview which I gave in August.

I am working on a series of novels, which celebrate rural southern English cultural heritage - and have the support of East Sussex Arts and Culture. My project involves local artists, film makers, musicians, radio producers, historians, and readers, and I am applying for Arts Council heritage funding for this.
However, the storm last night has shredded my tent and although I have patched it as best I can, I know that it will probably not survive Storm Brian - and if it does, it's days are still numbered, as I know from when my previous tent was slashed by someone with knife.
The harshest winter in decades is predicted - and it is just around the corner. I have had pneumonia three times, and I don't think my 'crew' and I will survive this winter under canvas. We need something cheap but more solid - a caravan.
Used touring caravans are not expensive, but are way beyond the reach of someone who makes her living by freelance writing, using a geriatric laptop with half the keys non-functioning - and, as NFA, is not eligible for any form of benefits or help from any official body.
We don't need luxury - but we do need shelter within the next couple of weeks, not only so that we can all survive the winter - but so that I can complete this project, having come this far.
I know times are tough for everyone at the moment, but if you can offer any donation, I (and Oscar and Hemingway) will be eternally grateful.
