Jilly's Pancreas Transplant Fund

Donation protected
Yaaay! Jilly is officially on the transplant list and awaiting organ donation!

Hi Everyone! My name is Alex and I'm a registered nurse. For over a year and half I have been caring for one of the most strongest young women I have ever come across - Jillian Ziegler aka Jilly. For the past 8 years, Jilly has been battling a very rare disorder, so rare in fact that she is the only documented case in North America. Jilly is a Type I Diabetic with a metabolic disorder of Subcutaneous Insulin Resistance. Meaning, her body doesn't absorb insulin as it should, requiring her to have a direct line into her heart to absorb the insulin. Jilly also experiences seizures due to her body being under a tremendous amount of stress 24/7. She has gone through countless surgeries, fought countless blood infections, and has even overcome septic shock. However, top doctors at the Mayo Clinic are worried her body can't take much more. Her only chance at regaining her life is by undergoing a pancreas transplant. In order to raise funds, Jilly and her family have been cutting back on daily expenses, taken on additional jobs, and have even hosted a charitable garage sale in the hopes of gathering enough money. Unfortunately, its still not enough. Now, the family is seeking help from you! Expenses include last-minute flights to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota (which we know will run high), as well as 6-8 weeks of housing expenses for Jilly after her transplant at the Gift of Life Transplant House. Gathering donations is time sensitive as she can receive a phone call on an available organ at any moment!

Some days are tougher than others, but overall, Jilly is a fighter. She refuses to give up on her chance of living a normal life. She continues to persevere and believes that one day she'll have the opportunity to help people who suffer just as she does. Her dreams include becoming a diabetic nurse educator, police officer, lawyer, and being a foster mom for abandoned animals. For the first time in a long time, her dreams are endless AND possible. She has the opportunity to accomplish these dreams with her new pancreas, but she needs your help first. Please, help Jilly on her journey to a new life. Any donations, however large or small, will be warmly received. Any prayers and positive thoughts will be cherished. Blessings to all.

Jilly LOVES animals!! She's going to have many furr-babies!!
