Back To Texas 2019 Fundraiser

Donation protected
Thank you to all our family and friends we have been able to visit with this May-September 2019. It has been a musical success and progressive season as well, being able to perform at many great events such as the 82nd Annual Berry Dairy Days in Burlington, Washington Beerfest, Pono Ranch monthly in Seattle (with a line around the block), a home show at Boundary Bay Brewery and Solstice Festival out at River Farm in Deming, Anacortes Arts Fest, a great benefit for ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease) in Yakima at Bale Breaker Brewing, and a few fabulous shows on Guemas Island at the General Store, while DJing our favorite music at Aslan Brewery and a few shows with our live duo Yogoman and Bongo Jac in the mix.

As most of you know, we are an independent Do-It-Yourself band with no funding or financial backing besides our fans attending shows occasionally or these occasional crowd funders. Touring bands are rare these days as budgets for independent acts has diminished over the years. As of this year, the cost of living has been preventative to even visit with a full summer of musical work (this worked fine for us previously).  On top of that, we had some unexpected vehicle maintenance costs such as replacing the transmission on the band van ($2000) and unforeseen costs on our trip to Burning Man (Tire repairs and extra gas to travel to repair them - $500). Since we left WA we have added the costs of replacing a new gear box, power steering pump, fuel pump & filter and 2 more tires totaling $5000 so far and that’s not including gas for trip and food on the road. We intended to take our band van south this year which is better on mileage, but the transmission replacement took a month to get the parts shipped up and installed (that's a whole other story), which put us behind time on our tour route of shows back to Texas, so we were forced to travel south in our RV which we intended to leave in WA to stay on next summer.

With these accumulated repairs eating up our return budget and set up costs of our cottage industry business we intend to start out of our home in Linden, TX, we are now reaching out for financial assistance to our family and friends.  I have become comfortable asking for this assistance because I work 40-70hrs a week handling the many different aspects of running a band such as - Managing, booking, performing, marketing/publicity, scheduling, coordinating the manufacturing music/merchandise, and brainstorming new directions and learning/creating new music.  Less people are now going out to see live music these days as technology has grown and crowdfunding is one avenue that fans/friends/family can support from afar if they appreciate our work. We now realize that visiting the PNW in Summer, will now require more higher paying Summer bookings so I can pay my players a respectable rate and cover our costs of staying in that area.  At this point we’re not sure we will be able to come back next year and that is OK too. Your help with this possible last trip south would not only be greatly appreciated but crucial in making the nearly 3000 mile exodus and getting us on our feet financially. My 7 piece dance band Yogoman Burning Band just recorded at our friend and Dub Engineer Stuart “Ting Kubby” Jackson’s house in Seattle so we’ll be happy to provide you with a recording once we get it mixed. We are also working on recording a Yogoman & Bongo Jac release for our live husband and wife duo and once it is recorded we would love to share that with you also. Another option is playing a private party for a certain amount of financial support that is negotiable. Thank you for considering all this and anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated. - Jordan, Jacqueline and Buck
