Wright Ward's Medical Fund

On Sept 12, 2015 Wright and I were on our way to watch UGA play Vandy in Nashville. Before the game we stopped to get lunch and Wright had a seizure. After getting to the ER, they did a CT and MRI and found Wright had bleeding in his brain, one large tumor and a few smaller masses spread throughout. He was admitted to the CCU at TriStar Southern Hills. We spent 6 days there anxiously waiting to hear from Emory so that Wright could get the best treatment possible. September 18, we got the good news and Wright was flown to Emory that night. He has surgery scheduled for today (9/21) at 3pm EST to remove a blood clot and the tumor. He will be in the ICU for at least 24 hours, spend 3-4 days in the hospital recovering/doing rehab, go home for 2 weeks to complete recovery, then come back to Emory for a follow up appointment. At that time, we will move into the oncology phase where Wright may receive radiation/chemo. This has yet to be planned out. One step at a time...first the surgery, onto recovery, then move forward with further treatment. The best way to stay updated is through the Caring Bridge journal that I created at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/wrightward-updates

Wright and I are so appreciative to everyone who has sent us well wishes and prayers. We are so blessed with an amazing support system. Many of you have asked if there is any way to help, and we thought setting up this account would be the best way.

Love,
Lauran and Wright
