Hello and thank you for taking an interest in my story. For years my kids and I have been active in the community and helping others and now we would like to start our own charity for helping the elderly of Eastern Kentucky. There are a lot of people out here who can't afford things like firewood in the winter, basic repairs to their homes, and other essentials. Working with other charities we would like to provide these services. Unfortunately all of this costs money.

We are raising money to startup the charity and purchase some of the items we need to do this effectively. It will cost close to $1000 just to incorporate and register as a non-profit with the IRS. Other items would be a heavier trailer with sides to haul firewood or possibly appliances to people who need them. Other things would be a snowblower and emergency items for my truck, to help keep driveways and pathways clear for the people who can not do it for themselves.

The picture on my page is my kids and truck at one of the local sawmills who provide free mill scraps for people who can come and get them. We will working with them to get wood together for the shutins and disabled that need it.

Once we are registered I will be working towards getting corporate sponsors with companies like Lowes, who could provide newer appliances, lumber, etc. to help these people.

This has been a lifelong dream of mine and something that my kids picked up from me along the way. I have seen too many people over the years with no to care for them, that is heartbreaking to us. No one to visit them and check in on them. Just visiting some of these people can make a world of difference.

If you make a donation please make sure I have your email so I can personally thank you. When we have our tax ID I will send it to you so that you can write off your contributions. Thank you all and God bless.

Have not updated in awhile.

During the past year we have helped 25 families with everything from heating to food and clothing to helping a homeless family get off the street. We are going into winter and I know of 5 families needing shelter right now. Donations are needed more then ever and are appreciated a great deal to help these families and with on ongoing goal of making sure the elderly are cared for.

Thank you for this past year, we've accomplished a lot and looking forward to helping even more.

With the weather finally settling down we have finally been able to catch up on some outside work. Was able to get under a house and do some repairs, took down a big tree this morning before it messed up some powerlines, and of course some yardwork. We are moving into summer well.

This past week we have helped a couple get a new roof on their trailer. when they had contacted us they had been without a roof for 2 weeks. Within 2 days I had gathered enough tarps to cover the roof temporarily and set them up with another non-profit who could provide the funding to have a new roof installed. A lot of times we don't do the work ourselves but we get people where they need to go.

Spring has sprung and the grass is calling to be cut. We had a zero turn donated to us by Thompson Tractor of Morehead, KY and have already started helping out with it. Thanks Lowell and the guys, you got us that much closer to where we need to be.
