Wisconsin Bear Education Sanctuary

Please help me educate the public about who their peaceful funny black bears are.  We can stop the annual killing of more bears in Wisconsin than anywhere on earth.  Right now Sept. 6 - Oct.11, the annual bear slaughter over packs of dogs and bait is going on just when bears need to be putting on weight for hibernation.  5,000 bears will be killed again this year as they are every year.  Most of those killed are less than a year and a half old.    20 years of speaking out and writing columns has not stopped this kill.

Please help me build an open air bear education center 35 miles north of Madison, the capital.  I have the land.  The  8 foot triple fencing ( required by the DNR and Dept. of Agriculture) for one acre costs $30,000 and the bear house/den and cameras and an additional privacy fence ( so the bears are not shot from the road) is another $10,000.  If I can get the fencing in this fall, I can take in two bear cubs ( born in January ) in the spring.

I have a track record of standing up for wildlife.  I have written the Madravenspeak living wildlife column for the Capital Times newspaper the past 7 years as a pro bono project to help wildlife.  (Put Madravenspeak into the search box of madison.com and 183 columns are in the archive.) The column I write can help me attract people to visit ( especially school children ) to learn how peaceful, intelligent and friendly bears are.  I could write a thousand columns and not have the effect of what the bears themselves can teach.  To know them is to love them.

Six of the eight bear species are on the endangered list.  Two-thirds of wildlife on planet earth has been destroyed in just the past 50 years.  We can change this paradigm to valuing the life of our wildlife.
This is a video put together by a supporter of the Minnesota Bear Education center.  We need a center in Wisconsin to help our bears and other wildlife:
Bears are sacred and do not deserve to be killed for taxidermy and heads on walls. For our bears! Thank you!

If you cannot stand to watch the second video, men rewarding a 10-year old child for killing a bear ( sponsored by Safari Club International head hunters club ):

- then help me end this.

The bears cannot speak for themselves. People will not protect who they do not know.  This effort needs community support.  We can do this together to open hearts and minds to the beauty and magic of our fellow beings.

Thank you so much!

September 5 - October 9 the Wisconsin bear mass murder of 4,500 black bears sold off to a record 12,950 men and women who enjoy killing bears over packs of dogs and bait. Most will die as cubs 8 months old to a year and half. This has gone on and on and will not stop until people care enough to do an education and outreach center which is what I am trying to do with building a black bear sanctuary. I need help - the bears need our help and commitment. Please donate so I can fence this year. Does anybody care about black bears in Wisconsin? Below a you tube video of the "cutest bear attack ever". They deserve so much better - like living safe and respected. And the other picture is the land for fencing the bear sanctuary. There is a section of trees.

This is a call to strong women to run for the two positions open in every county in Wisconsin Monday, April 9. The Dept. of Natural Resources runs this election with the former hunting lobby, the Conservation Congress, and the two have never opened up the election to the general public to have a say. So 90% of us who do not kill wildlife are left in the dark about the process of governing the billions of dollars of public lands we bought - the wildlife we have a right to save - the waters we have a right to protect. The above column, and one I just wrote that will come out Sunday under Madravenspeak in the Capital Times - are a CALL to strong women to run for election so that we have humane candidates standing up to the usual good ole boy killers. We can turn this around in two years, if people attend in their county ( links in the above column to all 72 county locations). If you want to learn more, look for the column Sunday, network the election and vote to your social media contact and take I.D. to vote and elect in your county. Throw your hat in the ring to let me know how many humane votes you get!

Ten toddlers, age one, were licensed to kill deer this year.
If you want bears on this planet - if you want a living world, we must organize together to change. I am doing everything I can by writing a column the past seven years, for free...which means I need help for the one acre fencing required by DATCP to fence for bears - $30,000 just for that - plus housing, a water feature and food. Please help me help them.

See my column link above. I titled it HUNTING IS NOT CONSERVATION: Exhibit A: Irrational Persecution of Wolves, but my editor thinks she is not editing if she does not change things. It is frustrating to write a column for free for 7 years and have things only get worse and worse - so that is why I want the community to help me start up a bear sanctuary. Please support this effort. I have donated my life to helping our wildlife survive. Can you help with donations?
Attached is the picture at the top of the most recent column. It is a dead bear showing off the low consciousness of the legislator, Senator Tiffany who heads up the Natural "resources" and "Sporting Heritage ( of death ) committee in the senate - the one that has now pushed forward 4,500 more bears to be killed in the fall in Wisconsin - over dogs. Who cares?
