Winnie’s Medical Fund

Meet Winnie!! My sweet little rescue puppy. Winnie (once Micko) was found on Craigslist for free by a friend. I was told Winnie had a condition called Mega E which is an enlarged esophagus that does not function properly causing her to regurgitate everything she eats.

I took her to the vet to get a wellness check and it turns out this poor little girl has a lot more issues than I thought. She has a severe heart murmur and a condition called persistent right aortic arch. This is a birth defect that causes the aortic arch to grow over the esophagus restricting the passage to the stomach. Because of this being untreated for 16 weeks Winnie’s esophagus is incredibly distended. Winnie will need heart surgery to fix the persistent right aortic arch but even after this surgery she still will never live a normal life. She will have to eat sitting in a chair in order to get the food she eats into her stomach.

I could have never imagined when I picked this little girl up she would be in such bad shape. If the so called breeder I rescued her from would have spent more time on feeding her she would not be as bad as she currently is. My heart breaks for her. She deserves so much better. I feel so incredibly honored to have got to meet this lady. She is shy but coming out of her shell and showing us how silly she is.
