Dear Friends & Family,
Thank you for taking the time to view my GoFundMe website.
I have been very hesitant in posting a Go Fund Me page, but some of my closest friends have continued to persuade me to do so. I never want to be a bother or burden on anyone, but at this point, I seem to not have any other option. I am very grateful for all of your understanding and compassion.
As many of you know, in June of 2016, I lost both my hips to Avascular Necrosis (A non-curable bone disease) and had to have bilateral total hip arthroplasty after a first failed attempted surgery to try to salvage what bone was not diseased. Over the past two years, I have suffered with unrelenting pain and fatigue in my legs and back. This has brought my active lifestyle to almost a complete halt. I have spent most of the past 24 months going to doctors, having endless Bloodwork, MRI’s, X-rays, Bone scans, EKGs, EMGs, Nuclear tests, Nerve Conduction tests, diagnostic procedures, and Multiple Surgeries. I am now living in a state of disbelief and duress.
After exhausting all medical options in upstate NY, I decided to go to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL to get some answers. After 10 days and seeing Nine Specialists, it was determined that my bone is not adhering to the hip replacements, causing both my hips to have micro-motion, making it necessary to have them RE-replaced. During all the testing, one of the Doctors found some melanoma skin cancer on my left leg, which required surgery, and this postponed my first hip surgery until July 19th of 2018.
The cancer was removed and is now healing well. I had my first hip surgery on July 19th, and I am in the process of healing at home. My next hip surgery is scheduled for August 20th, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic in Florida.
I am very discouraged at this point, because after my first hip surgery, my lower back pain has become much worse. This may cause my second hip surgery to be postponed to a later date. This is a great concern for me, because winter is just around the corner.
I live in a peaceful home on Tug Hill, NY where we receive over 300 inches of snow a year that requires me to maintain my half mile driveway. The past two years I have struggled severely to get in and out of my Bobcat to move the snow and maintain my basic necessity of living. This year I am very concerned that I will not be able to manage the snow and my basic living expenses.
I have not worked since June 2018 and should be receiving $170 per week for disability. My medical bills are piling up in abundance and I’m starting to get behind on my basic monthly bills. I am facing my third surgery two weeks from now, and an uncertain amount of medical expenses to find the cause of my severe back pain.
I’ll be quite honest, this is becoming a major burden on my mind on top of all the daily pain and suffering I am currently in. Not knowing how I am going to pay for my coal and propane for the winter, my traveling expenses back and forth to the Mayo Clinic in Florida, (we are driving & trying to stay with friends to break up the drive and help keep expenses to a minimum) lodging, food, and all my other basic necessities is all very over whelming to me.
Any/all funds collected are being put towards my medical bills, travel expenses, & basic necessities for living. I am a man of great faith in God. I am just struggling with these great burdens. I never had to before, but I am asking for help to get me through this suffering trial in my life. I am grateful for any help.
I am encouraged by all the loving emails, texts, & phone calls. Thank you.
Sincerely,
William
