Wayne's Ride with Multiple Sclerosis

Donation protected

My name is Chris, and I am here to raise money for my future father-in-law Wayne Hartshorn.
Wayne, who is 56 years old was diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2010. Wayne's condition has gotten progressively worse as the years have gone by. He is currently on a waiting list for stem cell and has received injections with no success.  There have been good days, there have been bad days. Unfortunately, as of late there has been more bad than good. On bad days, Wayne can not get around the house on his own feet, restricting him to a walker for a short period of time. Wayne's MS has slurred his speech. Wayne can not work due to his MS, leaving his wife Marie, with the financial responsibilities. My family and I were able to put enough money together to purchase an electric wheelchair for Wayne to assist with his mobility issues within the home however, a major problem persists. The problem is when he needs to get around outside of the house. Marie does not have a vehicle that is wheelchair accessible making it nearly impossible for Wayne to travel to medical appointments and family gatherings.
Every time I visit Wayne, he is restricted to the couch and the confines of his home. He often talks to me about all the things he used to be able to do with his family with frustration and disappointment in his eyes. He always tells me how lucky he is to have his wife Marie, his kids and his dogs to keep him company. When asked to go places Wayne is quick to say, "It's okay" because of the burden he feels it places on his family to get him places. How wonderful would it be if we could improve his quality of life and make his wish of being mobile again come true? I would like to make that wish possible for him even though I know how modest a man Wayne is. He would never dream it possible for a wheelchair accessible van to appear in his driveway. All the money raised through donations will be put towards the purchase of a van for Marie and Wayne. A van that will be able to lift and transport Wayne's wheelchair in and out of with ease.
Wayne means the world to me, my family, and his family. He has been a rock for so many of us despite his daily struggles with this debilitating disease. He is an inspiration to me that despite the obstacles you can overcome and find beauty in life. I would like to help make the rest of his life a little brighter and repay him for all the love and support he has shown to so many over the years. You can help me do just that with a small donation. I appreciate every dollar you can donate as will Wayne and his family.
The rock it will take off Wayne's family's back is one you could never imagine. I personally can not imagine the battle Wayne has had to deal with each and every day. I don't want Wayne to feel like a burden ever again. It brings me joy every time I see him and sadness that I can't do more for him.
I am asking for your help, for Wayne. Please, help me make Wayne's life a little better. I appreciate every dollar and so does Wayne. Thank You for your time.
If you donate please leave a comment, I will also be printing everyone's kind words and creating a flip book for Wayne.
