Wayne Reid Memorial

As an close knit community, we are all feeling the loss of our neighbor, friend, and devout Christian, Wayne Reid.  In a devastating time such as this we find ourselves needing to do something tangible to show the family we care and that they are in our thoughts and prayers.  For that reason we have set up this Go Fund Me page to assist Natalie and her 3 boys (Joshua, Austin, and Brody).  They should be able to grieve without the burden of worrying about finances.  We are hoping to help cover funeral and burial costs as well as set up a means to help Natalie provide for the boys in the coming months.  Any left over money will be put into a college type fund for the boys future.  Wayne and Natalie and their boys are well known in our community.  Anyone who lives in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas know them or of them.  Wayne was a devoted husband,  father and involved member of Valley Creek Church.  I am praying that all the seeds the Reids have planted in our lives will multiply and produce fruit in their lives over the coming months as they continue on their journey.

More info to come on the astounding person Wayne was and the ways he touched our lives...

Dear All,

Wayne has been my best friend since we were fifteen… We found the love of the Lord and salvation the summer we first met. We have shared some of the best moments and some of the worst that life can throw at you. From high school, college, marriage and children. Wayne has been there for me and my family without hesitation since that first summer.

I remember his phone calls from the mission field when I was still at college and I remember calling him and getting letters from him when I was in Iraq. When I was overseas, he swore that he would look after my wife and children as his own. When my son was injured as a teenager in an accident… I called him first... He dropped everything and met me at the hospital in the middle of the night just to put his arm around my shoulder and pray with me.

Wayne also was the most funny and caring person I have ever known. Wayne dealt with the worst of life’s problems with a smile and worshipful prayer. I can truly say some of the funniest times of my life was just talking to Wayne Reid. He could find the best in almost any situation.

Wayne had a servants heart and was there when needed at a moment’s notice. It was his calling.

Wayne called me when he met Natalie and used me as a reference of his character to get his first date (Natalie had not met me yet so it worked). I watched their love grow from that first meeting to blossom into a Godly, loving and strong marriage that led to the birth of their three wonderful boys. They raised their children the old fashion way, using the bible as their touchstone principles. I thank the Lord for every day I got to spend with Wayne and his family.

Wayne was a volunteer, and a loyal friend… Even there for total strangers because it was the right thing to do… The Christ like thing to do.

Now with his passing, I ask all those who read this note to also volunteer. Like his oath to me when I deployed to combat, to take care of his family. Do what you can… Do what you feel led to do and please join me with all those who knew him best.
In celebrating a life truly well lived, centered in Christ’s love!

Yours in Christ,
