The Walkers New Car Fundraiser

Meet Bruce and Debbie Walker, parents to Nine children, grandparents to sixteen. My parents.

Why they ever wanted so many children is a question often asked by others, but it was never a question to them. Both believe it was God's blessing to them to have all nine of us, and oh what a blessing it has been for us all!

My parents really are the most selfless, caring, loving, giving, attentive, and nurturing parents anyone could ask for. And as much as my dad would have to say about this fundraiser (Trust me, he would have much to say!) I decided it was something that God could bless them with. With your help.

In this day and age many are afraid or filled with too much pride to ask for help from others, especially from friends and family. Others simply run on the belief it is their 'problem' and they will fix it. I am one of those people myself, I admit. But this is also the age where things like fundraisers are common, and should not be looked down upon. And family and friends should lift one another up in prayer and help each other. And with that I implore you to read on and search your heart for what you might give.

My father Bruce worked with McDonnell Douglas and then IBM for 35 years until being laid off in 2013 along with many other employees. Along with his IBM job he also worked Full Time as a Pastor and part time as a Teacher for a local collage. This was all while being a father and husband to my mother Debbie.

He still works part time as a teacher and is still a Pastor, but finances are extremely low. They have been living with two cars and sharing them between their children as of late, however one of the two cars was hit Thursday (4/23/2015) and is no longer usable. The other car is not very reliable.

I started this fundraiser with a $10,000 goal, however this is more of a wishful goal. Whatever is earned will go towards a Used (Wishful New) car to help their situation. Anything extra will be given to help with monthly finances during these troublesome times.

So now is where I ask you to give what you can or what you feel the Lord is compelling you to give. Even if all you can give is $1 I know God will bless you in this.

If you know Bruce and Debbie you know how wonderful these two really are. I am so proud to be their daughter and to have been given the love and support they have offered me every day of my life. As much as it pains me to see them hitting such hard trials and tribulations right now I know God will provide, and that he is righteous and loving and filled with mercy beyond our understanding. He will offer my parents peace and supply them with their needs, and with your help as well we can make this happen.

So no matter what you give, personally I want to thank you. Even if I don't know you, thank you. If you yourself are going through some hard times and still are able to give even the smallest amount, thank you. I love you and will be keeping everyone (even those that cannot donate at this time) in my prayers and send special blessings your way.

My parents were not aware of this fundraiser until I informed them, so they have by no means asked me to raise awareness and to raise funds for them.

Please feel free to share this with your friends and family on social media websites to help make this fundraiser a reality for the Walkers. And if you have any questions or concerns you can contact me on Facebook or through the 'contact' button below.
