Spring flowers spread joy and convey a sense of hope. This is especially true after a long, cold, dark Winnipeg winter.
The Winnipeg Bulb Project, through the generous support of its donors, supplies spring-flowering bulbs to charities and homeowners in lower-income neighbourhoods.
Since 2013 our donor community has enabled us to spread joy & hope across the city by distributing 37,000 spring-flowering bulbs such as daffodils, tulips, Siberian Squill and Grape Hyacinths.
Past recipients of our donors' generosity inlcude:
- Barber House senior's centre in Point Douglas
- Polson Elementary and dozens of other schools
- West Broadway Community Organization
- Spence Neighbourhood Association
- Habitat for Humanity
- Andrews Street Family Centre
- North End Community Renewal Corporation
- and many more worthwhile organizations.
Organizations such as St. Amant Centre and Special People in Kildonan East take full advantage of the opportunity, incorporating our bulbs into their programming with residents. Charities like this do not have their own budget for bulbs, which is why I need your support.
100% of your donation goes directly to purchasing bulbs and helping homeowners proclaim their neighbourhood pride. The Project only asks of bulb recipients that bulbs are planted where their bold spring colours will be visible to neighbours and not tucked away in private backyard gardens.
Won't you help us raise enough for 13,000 bulbs in 2017 and bringh our five year total to 50,000 bulbs? That's a lot of smiles thanks to donors like you.
