Dear Friends, This is Vinod Tanguturi reside in Virginia USA. I am from Chennai, TN. I am a software engineer working in one of the fortune 500 companies.
Many of you might have known that Chennai, a city in southern part of India, has been mercilessly hit by a massive flood. Hundreds of people have died. This was the city that gave life to millions of people throughout India. Now, this city needs help. Thousands of people along with governments, government agencies & armed forces are trying their best to help this city to get back to its foot. Fortunately my family are safe and they have some back up. Unfortunately most of our friends and their families are affected by this disaster. I sincerely request you to donate to help chennai. It can be as less as $10 or what ever you can. This might feed someone in Chennai who have not had anything for the past three days. To do this, you need not be from Chennai or even know where it is. Let us join hands together to keep humanity alive. It's your pleasure only. No force. Your funds are blessing to the affected people.
The collected funds will go to World Arya Vysya Maha sabha Chennapuri Trust in Chennai TN
World Arya Vysya Maha Saba (WAM) is on the ground responding to the widespread flooding in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. Our National Disaster Task Force is on alert for immediate response.
The money we collected will be distributed in the form of dry ration, non-food items and dignity kits to people affected by the floods. Around 4500 beneficiaries were reached so far through various interventions. We are planning to distribute non-food items to around 6000 families over the next few days.
People displaced in Chennai are staying in 36 emergency relief camps. Over 4,00,000 people have been shifted to relief camps in Tamil Nadu alone. The primary needs of these people are cooked food, dry ration, temporary shelter materials/kits, non-food items such as utensils, mats, mosquito nets, clothes, blankets, hygiene kits and medical support.
WAVMS from Anna Nagar will be distributing NFI kits to 665 households. The project is planning to distribute cooked food and water to 5000 people, dry ration to 1000 families, hygiene kit to 1000 families and NFI to 1000 families.
Since the organisation accept money in INR, the collected funds will be first withdrawn to my personel A/C and then transferred from my Bank of america A/C to the WAM's Indian Bank A/c in HDFC bank and then redistributed to the needed people as stated above.
