Vanessa Grace the Heart Warrior

On February 19th, 2016, Vanessa Grace Vogl changed our lives forever. At only one day old, she was diagnosed with multiple heart defects (transposition of the great arteries, VSD's, and pulmonary stenosis). Her first procedure was at 4 days old and has already endured one open heart surgery. Over the last 6 months, we have felt every emotion from pure joy to overwhelming fear. We have been in and out of the hospital, spending more days than not with the caring, exceptional staff at A.I. Dupont. However, Vanessa's heart is requiring a transfer to Boston's Children's Hospital, where they specialize in her procedure. The costs incurred with this transfer will be more than our family could have ever expected. Her father (Zach Vogl) is the sole provider so that her mother (Heather Allgor) can be by her side 24/7.
