CANCER: MGUS/MULTIPLE MYELOMA

CANCER: MGUS/MULTIPLE MYELOMA To whom this may concern, I am battling a rare cancer called MGUS/MULTIPLE MYELOMA.  Please understand that I am not sharing this story for anyone to feel sorry for me or to earn some possible personal gain for recognition.  I am simply sharing what I have endured and what I am currently going through to encourage others and to seek prayer, financial help, or whatever God lays on your heart to give. In 2010, I was given a specific amount of time to live (less than a year), due to being diagnosed with various disorders; one being Congested Heart Failure with an ejection fraction of 5%. Based on the diagnosis of one of my ailments, my heart at the time was not able to continue pumping the blood around my body. This caused kidney failure, edema, and my organs were starting to shut down. My body started to retain fluid and swell, which caused a huge amount to remain in my lungs. It was so bad at the time, my doctors wanted to amputate one of my legs due to a hole that was created from the lack of proper blood flow down to my bone. I went through additional testing because my doctors believed that I had Lupus; which is rare in men. I found out in December 2013 that I don't have Lupus and my heart is better; however, I am not completely healed yet.  I am still having various issues with my heart and my Doctors want to perform other invasive surgeries on me.  After more testing, I have been diagnosed with a Rare Blood Cancer Called MGUS/Multiple Myeloma.  I am doing all that I can to learn about this disease that I am facing.  In addition, I am maintaining my doctor visits to a Bone Marrow clinic for my diagnosis. It has been a journey, and the healing process isn't over yet, but through faith, I am Claiming it in the name of Jesus. I can remember not being about to even walk 1/4 of a mile to take my dog out of my home. With the help of my amazing Team At Duke HealthCare (My PCP, Nutritionist, Cardiologist, and the Holy Spirit for guiding these wonderful people along with a few others that helped) I am able to get around a little better. I share this message to encouage someone not to give up. God isn't done writing your story. As long as I am alive, on this side of the world, I will share with as many as I can what HE HAS DONE FOR ME!! I am 170 pounds down and well on my way to recovery!! I still have more surgeries and continued treatment to undergo. I am reaching out asking many of you to sow a seed to help with my treatments, medicines/prescriptions, expensive medical copays, travel expenses to and from doctor visits that are sometimes out of state; and various other expenses that have been generated. I wanted to reach out to a few of my friends to see if you could donate. I am trying to raise as much money that I can before my next couple of surgeries.  If you desire to give, feel free to donate here on GofundMe. If you are not able to give financially, that is fine as well.  Your prayers mean alot also!!  Please keep your brother in prayer!! May God bless you! #GoBeyondGiving Dameian Battle, MBA
