Sometimes things in life just are too difficult to understand. Last night, one of those things happened to my family. April’s uncle John tragically passed away at the much too young age of 47 years old. Because he was so much younger than April’s mother, he was more like a big brother to April. I loved him. He was a big, funny, fun, hard working and kind man. He was also a single father to a great little boy. His son was his world, and he was the world to that little boy. He was his rock. He comes and stays with us for a week each summer, and we love having him. They lived in Florida, and of course, our entire family is in Oklahoma. We WILL take the best care of this boy that’s possible. We spent hours with Grandma going over details, making arrangements, planning the best and quickest way to get him home. We are bringing him home to OK to be with us. We have to move all of John’s things and handle all of his affairs. There will be moving costs, plane tickets, funeral expenses and so many other expenses that will be incurred. And all of that falls back on Grandma Mary. We are all pulling together as a family to do as much as we can, but I want to make sure that this is done quickly, and with as little stress on Grandma as possible. You know I love being able to use this page to help as many people as possible. It’s one of my greatest joys. But today, I need your help. This boy needs your help. Grandma needs your help. The family needs your help. Every single cent donated will go directly to moving expenses, funeral arrangements and other expenses that are incurred getting him here with us as quickly as possibly. Any funds remaining will be deposited into a college fund for him. We are going to take care of him, but if you can help us, we’d be forever in your debt.
