Wanting to serve in the USMC

This is my son, Brandon, and he is wanting desperately to join the United States Marine Corps as a Crime Scene Investigator. He was working with a recruiter for months, training once a week with other Marine hopefuls in order to prepare for basic training this summer. As part of his preparation, he had to go to M.E.P.S. to have a complete physical. He had passed everything up until his vision test. Unfortunately, he was disqualified because of his vision without his glasses. Now Brandon has worn glasses since he was 18 months old and we have done everything doctors have told us to do, but they are getting worse as the years go on. After he was disqualified, we found out that if he was a candidate and had Lasik vision repair, he could again return to M.E.P.S. to be reconsidered. As a parent, I wish I could simply open my wallet and make this happen, but I just am not financially able to do it. My insurance has provided a gracious discount, but with the amount of correction he will need, it will still be $1800 per eye. I have until May 15 to at least come up with a $1000 of it so that they will do his surgery on May 18th. Brandon wants to serve his country. He wants the brotherhood and comerateri that the Corps will give him. He decided a month before being disqualified that he wanted to make the Marine Corp his career instead of a stepping stone to the FBI. Absolutely anything will help. Please help me help my son.
