On October 12, Tyler had emergency brain surgery to drain an infection that was putting pressure on his brain.  The following day, Tyler had a second surgery to drain infection in another location inside his brain.  Prior to October 12, Tyler had been having headaches which brought us to Urgent Care three times.  Since Tyler’s surgeries, he has been in the PICU receiving one on one nursing care while his brain heals.  Tyler has not regained full consciousness in over two weeks and faces a long road of healing and rehab.

Tyler is 15 and an accomplished competitive cuber.  He plays tennis and excels in advanced classes at his high school.  He is beloved and admired by his three younger siblings and a core member of our church’s youth group.  Though these medical challenges have created a detour in Tyler’s life, he is expected to make a full recovery.

The medical costs for this life-saving care are high and not all will be covered by insurance.
