It's a mother's worst nightmare. Giving birth at just 24 weeks pregnant, to twins that weigh barely over 1 pound each. But to top it off, to give birth in a foreign country, with your husband forced to be in the other room, surrounded by people who don't speak your language, worried about the safety of your little ones makes it even harder. Now Kim and Fred are stuck with little babies in intensive care for months in Portugal with all of their family and friends back in the United States. The stress and now the financial burden of having to find a place to live for an indefinite amount of time in a foreign country with brand new twins is heavily weighing on them.

Please consider giving, if even just a little bit. Just five dollars could help them make a phone call back home to their parents, doctors, or help them find a place to live. Mom owns a business back home that doesn't run without her so in addition to the unexpected expenses and living situation, her business won't be making any money and the situation will be detrimental to it.

Thanks in advance for blessing this beautiful new family of four during an extremely trying time.

Pictures of little Hayden Grace and Husdon Charles coming soon!

We're happy to report that Highmark insurance has agreed to pay for the flight home! Kim, Fred and Hayden are coming home!!! Thank you all so much for your support. This has been a long journey that still has a long way to go, but your support has helped pay medical bills, room and board while estranged in Portugal, Hudson's final arrangements and much, much more. Please continue to keep the Spratt Family in your prayers!

We are very saddened that Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania / Highmark has denied Hayden's request to come home despite her parents being unable to continue living in Portugal with half income and double expenses.

They have decided that's it's not necessary and by that the alternative must be necessary that Kim and Fred now have to consider leaving their child or going potentially bankrupt and close a business staying in Portugal as well as endure further emotional trauma.

If anyone knows anything that would make it possible for Hayden to come home, please help.

My daughter was born at 27 weeks on June 8th. Her due date was September 5, so she is around the same age as yours. Looking at your pics on Facebook, she even has two of the same preemie outfits. I am really happy you were finally able to bring your daughter home and I hope your family continues to thrive. You are in my prayers.
