Stolen Boy Scout Trailer & Supplies

Donation protected
On or around January 22, 2018,  the equipment trailer belonging to Boy Scout Troop 63 was stolen from the parking lot of our chartered organization, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.

"Unsafe", "Angry", "Sad" are the words our Boy Scouts used to describe their feelings about the stolen trailer.  Whoever cut the lock and dragged our trailer away was probably sorely disappointed to discover its contents, but the stoves,  propane tanks, tents, dutch ovens, pop up shelters, class "B'" tee shirts, lanterns, first aid kits, coolers, etc. meant the world to our Troop.

There was a time when something like this would rarely happen. An individual's moral compass along with the unwritten code of respecting your community, its children, and places of worship was all the protection one needed.

A police report was filed and the trailer was insured, but unfortunately, after applying the deductible, there will not be enough to begin to cover the loss.

Understanding the concepts of "community" and "citizenship", both local and abroad, are important themes of Scouting.

With the help of you and your friends, we would like to raise enough money to purchase a new trailer, replace its contents, and build a secure shelter to house the new trailer. We'd like to show our Scouts what good people can do. Show our Scouts that when you are doing the right thing and "doing a good turn" for your community, your community will return the favor and support you. Show them that bad things can and will happen to all of us, but it doesn't have to derail your mission. Show them that good will ALWAYS eventually trump evil.

Please consider donating to our Troop, any amount will help and please consider sharing our story with your organizations, families, and friends.

Whether you are able to give or not, please keep the boys of Troop 63 and their leaders in your prayers. We are committed, more now than ever, to help raise a generation of young men we all will be proud to call our own.

A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

I really wish whoever stole our trailer had been raised a  Boy Scout.
