My name is Kelly, but I'm not here about me. I'm here about our friend Traci.

Traci is an incredible woman, who is always there for her friends and family, and now we need to be there for her.

About a month ago Traci's mother had a hysterectomy due to uterine cancer. This month, Traci was hit with the diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Traci and her mom run a small frozen yogurt shop in the pacific northwest. The winter is always a tough season, and with their medical challenges, this winter is going to be tougher than ever. We need to do what it takes to help them stay afloat.

As a business owner, Traci is a contributing part of her physical community. Through her fandoms including Dr. Who, Sherlock, and her love of Benedict Cumberbatch, Traci is a massive contributing part of multiple online communities, including the TadPool. Her foodie talents including magazine quality cookies (Traci made the Star Trek cookies that were featured on The Morning Stream).

I met Traci through the TadPool, and I have come to love her as my sister. It is time for us to take care of the woman who has been there for all of us.

Contribute what you can. Whether it's $1 or $500, I swear to help ensure that every penny raised goes to Traci and her mother. Think about it... if everyone in her fandom groups contributed $1, we can at least help her get through this winter.

She has a battle ahead. Let's not let her fight this alone. Step up. She would step up for you.

Thank you to everyone for pulling together yet again! Traci and her mom have enough to join the gym together for a year. You are amazing. ❤️

A message from Traci: On July 1st, I got the official word that I'm in remission! My CT scan shows no sign of cancer and all my counts are good. HUZZAH! But just because I'm in remission, it doesn't mean my work is over. I still have a little ways to go before I can consider myself fully healed and healthy. I have so much more energy now that I am done with surgery and chemo, so one thing I've been using that energy for is to get back on the road to good health. That has meant walking and biking this summer - I've been trying to put in 1-4 miles a day whenever I have the time. It's something I enjoy and I want to keep it up so that I can gain some strength after such a long time of barely having the energy to get out of bed.

But here's the thing... winter's coming. I know I won't be able to go out and walk when it gets icy and snowy. What I *really* want is to join a gym, so I can get some weight training in and try out some of the equipment. A gym membership for my mom and me is $575 a year at a gym that's open late enough for us to go and work out after work every day. Unfortunately, that's far too much for us to be able to afford this year, after the struggles we've had with cancer (for those who don't know, my mom was diagnosed with the same type of a cancer only a couple of months before my diagnosis) and the little crises that come with owning a home and business. So I'm asking for help once again... help to continue my road to good health. My hope is to get the gym membership and then have a whole year to save up for next year's membership so that I can pay for it myself next time.

Hi all!

It's been a while since my last update. As spring closes and summer is upon us, I wanted again to thank you for supporting Traci.

I was lucky enough to take a vacation this year, and I was privileged to spend a third of that vacation with Traci. I stayed in Prineville, I ate frozen yogurt, and I got to spend some real girl time with my Traci. I you don't know, I'm from Indiana, so this was a long and needed trip.

Traci shared with me how much your support meant. You all came together to help her and her mother when they needed you the most. I can't take credit. All I did was give you a place to contribute. You saved her business. You kept her going. You let her see how loved she really is. For that, I am ever grateful.

Thank you for what you've done. Thank you for helping our friend, my spirit sister. I will never be able to explain how much it means.

Traci is doing well. Really well, in fact. What the future will be, none of us know, but she's strong. She's happy. She's loved. I may ask you for help again, because she never would for herself. Until then, let's all have a wonderful warm season.

And eat some fro-yo.

Hi everyone!

It's the next phase in Traci's treatment- chemo! While it's awesome that Traci is doing so well, chemo takes a toll. It's not an easy process.

Time for us to step up. My goal was to help Traci and her mom get through the winter by pulling us all together. We're more than halfway there. Take a look at what you've donated previously-can you match that again? As tax refunds come in, can you consider this for a couple of dollars? Do you have friends that you talk about Traci to, but you haven't told them about this fundraiser?

Now's the time. A little bit here and a little bit there will ease their worries as Traci deals with the bone aches, hair loss, and other "fun" side effects of killing this cancer. She's doing great, and no doubt a part of that has been the enormous outreach of support she has felt.

Thanks everyone!
-Kelly
