AUSSIE HEALTH SYSTEM HAS FAILED ME!

>G'day world , I'm an Aussie mum in chronic pain. It's very hard to share my story as I'm  super embarrassed , proud and very angry at the Australian health system. I have a broken vagina and NO quality of life due to an unapproved FDA Mesh implant and I need to raise between $30-50,000 for a mesh removal surgery in America as there are no surgeons here in Australia that are qualified or trained to do a complete removal.  I have a surgeon waiting to do a full mesh removal , he is just awaiting dates. Please look him up Dr V in St Louis. I asked my daughter to write something , as she's much better with words than me .

 My wonderful mother is only 46 years old. Due to a procedure 12 years ago called vaginal meshing (T.v.t Sling) to assist with a prolapse she has been in excruciating pain. Most days she struggles with basic necessities like eating and going to the toilet. The vaginal mesh product by  an American surgical manufacturer  is currently involved in a class action lawsuit through Shine Lawyers is Australia because of the severe damage there product has caused so many Australian women. Most of the women involved in this class action lawsuit have only had the mesh in their bodies for a couple of years and some are wheelchair bound unable to walk or have died . However, because most of the women have only had the mesh for a couple years there are doctors willing to remove them (most being overseas). My mother has contacted doctors worldwide and no one is willing to remove the vaginal mesh because of how long it has been in her body for. They are saying it is too risky and surgeons in Australia are no qualified to perform the removal surgery. My mother has been told for the past few years that she will need a colostomy bag so that she will be able to go to the toilet and she is only 46 years of age. She was given this surgery 12 years ago in the public system and they will not help her to reverse this procedure. She has only been advised to get the colostomy bag. As her daughter I am completely disgusted. My mother was a vibrant women and since her surgery she cant eat, go to the toilet, stand for too long or have sex. This surgery has put a massive strain on my parents relationship because of it. Although, after being together since they were 15 years old they are still together and still love each other very much. I only hope my marriage could withstand something so awful. The only option my mother has been given is to see if a doctor will do her surgery overseas. However, it is not something our family can afford. The class action through Shine lawyers is happening very slowly and could take many years. I dont want my mother to have to wait any longer than she has to for this surgery it is very much a case of her quality of life and my families happiness. I do not think it is fair that the public system will not take any responsibility for what this surgery has done to so many families. They will not provide any help and expect our family to pay for a trip and surgery overseas that we can't afford. I would very much like to see a segment on this American manufacturer and the vaginal mesh lawsuits that are occuring worldwide. I would like other women out there to know what may be inside their bodies and that it may be making them very sick. My mother was constantly told by doctors that what she was feeling was all in her head.

FIRSTLY thank you my beautiful eldest daughter for helping me word so of my story and give me the strength to carry on .
In my personal opinion I'm finding it impossible to get my head around
1. how  doctors can turn a man into a woman and a woman into a man but they can't turn me back into a functioning woman
2. how can surgeons put an implant in and not been trained to take it out. Don't they have a plan b in case something goes wrong ?
3. Surgeons made me feel like I was going mad , although they didn't know what the side effects where as it was a new procedure,  they have told me since 3 days after my operation that all my pain was my imagination. Even after I proved a year later they had stitched my vagina and my bowel together , even after I proved I'm not a hypochondriac I still get told there is nothing wrong with me and I should be able to have sex , pooh and wee without any pain at all .. They wanna walk a mile in my shoes , I bet if I was one of their wife's I would not be going through what I go though every single day :(  
4. Why do I feel like I live in a third world country where I can't get medical help as there is no available .
