Help Bex Get Top Surgery!

Hello friend! First of all, I'm sure this isn't the first, and it certainly won't be the last top surgery fundraiser that will come across your feed this week, so thanks for stopping by! The queer community has a rich history of coming together to support one another to make things happen in a world where the odds are often against us, and now it's my turn to pass the hat. I've been on the waiting list for top surgery with Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner at NYU since June of 2018, and despite a few setbacks I'm excited to say that my surgery date is officially scheduled for October 14th, 2019! I'm lucky enough to have insurance that covers a portion of the procedure, but  thanks to copays, co-insurance, a deductible, and some other insurance related jargon I don't fully understand (which is 100% by design by the way), I'll owe about $4,500 out of pocket for the surgery itself. I hope to be able to contribute about $2,000 of my own money, and I'm asking for help to raise an additional $3,500 to cover the medical expenses, GoFundMe fees, and other incidentals - like Uber rides to and from post-op appointments and supplies for my recovery. I know we're all struggling, but even a few dollars will help make this process a whole hell of a lot less stressful for me.
