Help Our Kids Live Their Dreams!!!
Now our kids need your help to purchase their first set of wheels so they can pursue their hopes and dreams. Last year our kids and their college Mentors & Tutors traveled to over thirty boxing competitions, three outward bound expeditions, numerous college visits, multiple field trips and now with summer here we have many magical summer outings planned.
We however realize that we can only ask so much of our incredible parents, college mentors and volunteers and in order for our kids to realize these great life experiences and more they need their first official team van.
Please help the kids of the Charter Oak Boxing Academy (COBA) purchase their first official team van to explore the world and realize their hopes and dreams as they grow into successful adults and citizens!!!
COBA Director and Philanthropist, Attorney Jeffrey Dressler and his Law Offices have donated $10,000 to get things rolling. That leaves us $30,000 to raise to realize a new and super safe 15 passenger van to pursue our dreams in!!!
Any help towards this goal will be profoundly appreciated by our kids!!! Every and any donation no matter what the size is priceless !!!!
I thank you for your consideration!!!
For the Kids,
Johnny “Coach” Callas MSW, CEO COBA

Your support has enabled us to branch out and send “Our” kids on “Outward Bound” Adventure Based Learning Wilderness Expeditions with the renowned “Outside Perspectives” outfit. In addition to this we have renowned Women’s Life Coach, Carmen Britt facilitating pre-teen & teen female empowerment groups for all of our lady COBA boxers once a week.
Because of your trust in us to make a “Real” difference in “Our” kids lives we also have been providing “Our” kids with our “Champions of Life” series of motivational speakers on subjects like: Gang & Drug Prevention, Life Skills, Leadership etc...
Oh and of course we have been practicing Olympic Style Boxing and Body & Soul Fittness six days a week and traveling to over thirty competitions throughout New England as well as multiple Regional & National Championships across the United States on the weekends. We have even hosted USA Boxing & College Teams from all over the Northeast at our own home shows at Trinity College and at the Academy!!!
Your generosity has been vital in our ability to help “Our” kids to become “Champions of Life” and we profoundly thank you!!! We have included a page from our COBA Family Photo Album as, “A picture is worth a thousand words” and we consider you family!!!
If you would like to update yourself on you’re kids at any time we invite you to our Facebook page: Charter Oak Boxing Academy” and or “Our” webpage @ www.cobaboxing.net. We hope that you will continue to be part of the “COBA Family” and help us nurture “Champions of Life!!!”

Peace I grew up in Charter Oak Terrace I lost many friends to jail or murders, this place was my escape, a loop hole, a sanctuary, a place of peace, smack in the middle in the eye of the storm, its where I grew up and grew into the man I am, Johnny Callas was and still is a mentor, big brother a father to me a countless others whom had no direction, he showed us love and welcomed us into his family he and Dionesia Callas gave so much, I remember her helping me type papers for school ( I started to type but she was faster lol) when I got my nose broken in school she took me to my Dr appointment, I was her little assistant running around w her doing errands while she balanced her life and gave mines some. I was her son as she loved and cared for me before she had her own, Dion Callas Anevay Callas Aiyana Callas . They the Callas' are family they gave me structure and oh I also learned how to box. They helped keep a kid from the projects on the right track even when I made mistakes, slipped And fell they showed me all boxers know to get up while the gloves off and fight til the Bell rings. In the ring but more importantly in life they also taught me in life there is no Bell so we keep fighting , training to be better, to live and help other live better. This was more than a gym a coach and his wife this was a home and a family for those of us who came from broken homes. Please support our efforts to build a new home to open our home to the community once again as they did more than 20 yrs and counting. Help us build new champions of life. Donate or share this message. I love u all my Charter Oak Boxing Academy Family past present and future. With love and peace. Peace
