Tip for Tom

This is a story about a friend helping another friend when its time to keep strong , have hope &  try to find a smile.  According to urban dictionary - friendship is not monogomous and those invovled  have no need to exclude people from their relationship. So...In saying this I'm getting to my point because I will need our friendship circle to expand greatly for everyone to get on board and help. When I got the call from my dear friend Beth who has supported and uncondtionally loved me for 13 years , to tell me her brother Tom aged 32,  was seriously unwell with his third lot of aggressive brain cancer, I felt sick and my immediate reaction was..'Well when are they getting this new tumour out ?' Surgery is scheduled for end of next week but unfortunetly his surgery is classified as elective , meaning it comes at a high upfront cost and if this wasnt bad enough he has to travel to Melbourne , away from his family in  country New South Wales. The surgery also requires Tom to be off work (unpaid) for 6 weeks to heal. The operation comes with potential risks for Tom such as impaired vision , speech difficulties or loss movement on his left side. Tom and his beautiful wife Bri have never asked for help for themselves and only ask when it was to help others. This time I have this overwhelming urge to help them in whatever way I can. 

How am I going to help ? I live in tropical North Queensland and its just hit summer, so everyone decides its time to pull out their beanies...right? or Start running alot more than usual.. No?  Call me whatever you wish but I will be pulling out my beanie , putting it on my noggin and  running 32km along our beautiful strand. I am hoping my goal is reached collecting "Tips for Tom' while I raise awareness for brain cancers .  So please join our friendship and help Tom out.
