Supreme's School Supplies

As we all know, school is just around the corner. It's the time of the year again, where some fortunate families are finishing up shopping for school supplies. While other less fortunate families are debating whether they should hold off a little later to purchase their supplies because the water bill is due in a couple of days. This is a story that some of us know all too well.
There is an African proverb "It takes a village to raise a child." This proverb is often used to describe the necessary partnerships to help nurture and raise a child to become successful.
Our "village" has never been more important and necessary than it is today.
I feel that it is the duty of the community to do what is necessary to ensure that students have the necessary resources and tools to become successful.
As your Mr. Hmong Ultimate Supreme, I hope to be able to contribute in some way. For the month of August, I will be raising funds to purchase school supplies to donate to the local school districts in Marathon County. In the DC Everest School District alone, 1 in every 3 students receives free or reduced lunch.
As a child, I was fortunate enough to have parents who were able to purchase school supplies for me to use. But while growing up, I realize that not many students are as fortunate enough.
With this fundraiser, I hope to raise enough funds to purchase notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, and papers. After purchasing these supplies I will be donating the supplies to the local school districts to give to those students that are in need.
I believe schools are the places where imagination and creativity are inspired. Where leaders are developed, and champions are created. Where dreams are dreamt, and success is achieved.
Students should be able to focus on their education without worrying about not having enough supplies for school. It takes a village to raise a child. It takes all of us to raise a child.
I hope to achieve my goal of raising $1000 by the beginning of September. Please help me by donating to this cause and making this a possibility to the future generations.
