Those Four Dirty Paws (Short Film)
An open letter to you, the most important individual in my film career at this moment in time,
Who am I???
I am TS Clay, a twenty-something living in sunny Philadelphia, who is an aspiring film maker. Over the past several months I have been writing a script for a short film. This short film is the next step on my path to achieving my life’s goal of becoming a filmmaker. Other steps I have taken on this path included a mini comedy web series, a mini documentary series, and tons of promotional videos. Now it is time for me to take the next step and create a short film!

Those Four Dirty Paws
This short, is derivative and my interpretation of the song "Dirty Paws" by Of Monsters and Men. (Whether you decided to keep reading pass this point or not) I suggest you take a listen to this song. (URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCHUw7ACS8o )
Synopsis of "Those Four Dirty Paws": A story within a story brings us Dreki, a boy who is looking for adventure. While traveling, he stumbles into the once harmonious city of Talatre. As soon as he arrives, he is confronted by a few members of the gang that runs the city under the direction of the queen. Dreki is saved from this confrontation by a girl, Paws. AKA Paws kicks so bad guy ass. She tells Dreki how the city was once a great place to live for all and how she is working to bring harmony back to the city. It is up to Paws and her new friend to take down the queen and restore harmony and love to the city of Talatre.
This is the story I want to bring to life.
To make this happen, I need your help! Although I will be in charge of directing, shooting, editing, promoting, casting, grunt work, and other various video productions things, I will need to pay for things like an animator, a beautiful soundtrack, compensation for the talented folks on the screen, and props. These are all very essential elements needed to make this short film.
So let me break down exactly what I want to use the funding for. The following pie chart is broken down into six parts and detailed below:
30% ($600) of the funds will go toward paying an animator. Part of the film takes place in animation, so I need someone to draw/create that part of the movie for me (I only do stick figures and crappy ones at that).
30% ($600) No movie is worth watching without beautiful musical accompaniment, is it? This is why I need to hire a professional musician to write a score for me (I can only play Hot Cross Buns and let be real, that's not cutting it).
13.75% ($275) will go to my actors. Most of the people in the film will be unpaid but the leads will for sure deserve a little something-something for their time.
10% ($200) will go to craft services, which is very important. I will be working with an extremely small crew and will need precision on everyone's part, and one easy way to make sure that happens is having food around!
6.25% ($125) is set aside for getting a few essential props. There are very specific and essential props that go into the symbolism of the film (And come on, what's an independent film without symbolism?).
10% ($200) the final 10% goes to paying GoFundMe's fees, because everyone need to get paid.
Why is it important to donate ASAP?
I am looking to shoot mid-April 2016! This is very soon! I need some of the shots to look very cold and the easiest way to accomplish this effect is to shoot when it is still slightly cold out, this is why I'm looking to start shooting soon.
