Swimming with MS 4 MS

Donation protected
Susan Simmons, a person living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), will be attempting to swim the first ever double crossing of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The swim is between 65 and 70km, in 10 to 12C water, and is expected to take over 24 hours.

Susan's main reason for the swim is to inspire other people living with Multiple Sclerosis to exercise as a way of managing the disease. She has had MS for close to 25 years and takes no medication. She uses swimming and veganism as her main disease management tools.

Susan's secondary goal is to raise funds for wellness programs for people with Multiple Sclerosis living in her community. Starting October Susan will use half of the funds raised to offer new aquatics programs for people with MS in Victoria and the surrounding area. She hopes that through your help she can offer these programs for free as many living with the disease are on a fixed income. The other half of the funds raised will be used to help fund the MS Warrior Dragon Boat team - a fabulous program that has been helping people with MS for several years.
