Thompson Family Fund
How does one cope with losing half of your family within 30 days? The thought is unimaginable and heartbreaking, but it is real and it happened.
Theresa and Lauren Thompson are now dealing with this very situation, and their family and friends are rallying around them to help them get through what is the most difficult time in their lives.
June 28, 2016 started out as any other day. Everyone went to work, came home and shared dinner together. Suddenly that evening, Robert, age 30, passed away. Within an instant, a mother and father were left to grieve the loss of their son and a sister was left with only memories of her brother’s hugs. A family unit was changed forever. But no one ever thought that the amount of grief the Thompson family experienced that day would intensify so quickly.
On July 27, 2016, exactly 1 month after losing his son Robert, Robert Sr. (affectionately known as Chester to his family) was stricken with a massive heart attack and died. It may have been from a broken heart of losing his son, or the weight of the grief was just too much for his heart to handle. But his sudden death has pulled Theresa and Lauren back into the darkness of mourning, with the realization that half of their family is gone and their lives have changed in a blink of an eye.
We have started this fund to help Theresa and Lauren with the funeral expenses of not one, but two funerals just 30 days apart. Any contribution is welcomed.
