Black Infinity Gallery Launch

$4,204 of $6,000 goal

Raised by 93 people in 12 months
The Black Infinity is a collective whose purpose is to create an expansive network of possibility, support, and opportunity for creatives of color. Working both locally and abroad we will provide physical exhibition spaces for emerging artists of color, an online platform for marketing, and professional development in the form of skill share workshops.

As a woman of color who grew up poor, I learned out of necessity that creativity was my greatest ally. I have always felt that hard work, mixed with the support and generousity of those who believed in me have allowed me to be the artist and educator that I am today. I want to pay that same generosity forward!

The Black Infinity will officially launch December 2, 2017 at 7pm at NoPlace Gallery in Columbus, OH. We will be featuring 10-artists in a group exhibition combined with a Holiday pop-up shop with goods created by people of color. But we need your help.
While being as resourceful as possible your donations will help us offset the cost of the following:

*Marketing: $500
Vinyl, local newspaper ads, printed materials, business cards, website fee.

*Building materials/Gen. supplies/food: $1500
-The Black Infinity pop up shop will be located inside NoPlace Gallery. (wood, drywall, putty, paint, bulbs, nails, etc.)
-Food/beverages for the exhibition opening/closing (100 guest minimum)

*Equipment/furniture rentals: $1500
-PA System, projectors, lighting for live music, workshops, furniture, and exhibition needs

*Artist stipend/film fee: $2500
10 artists  shipping/handling art works.
4 speakers/workshops

We are hoping to raise $6000 on/before DECEMBER 2 , 2017(but we’ll still take donations after!)

This will allow us to cover our exhibition expenses, and provide exhibiting artists funds for shipping  in order to meet our install deadline of November 25th.

Your support is just the first step to helping the Black Infinity spread its influence and increase our ability to provide free workshops and film screenings, and provide artists/workshop hosts with honorariums for their time!

It has always been a dream of mine to work collaboratively with a creative community and to provide opportunity and access for marginalized, and underrepresented groups of people in the arts.  I feel super jazzed that so many things are coming together in ways I could have never imagined. All of the funds from both the sale of artworks and the pop-up shop will go back to the artists, NoPlace Gallery, and The Black Infinity so that we can continue to bring you stellar contemporary art shows and quality merchandise.

With your help we will be able to impact  CCAD, CSC, OSU, and Columbus' southside neighborhood with free access to arts programming and events! All of your donations make this possible and every cent counts.

Thank you!
