What began as a small community defense project quickly grew into fairly large neighborhood initiative where residents armed with cameras, would document the police when they tried to enter the community.
Meet the Canfield Watchmen
David, along with other Canfield residents would conduct daily Copwatch/Know Your Rights Trainings and would arm almost the entire neighborhood with cameras.
From there David and company would spread the Copwatch knowledge to the greater movement in St Louis so that everyone would know what to do when they were stopped, or while obersrving the police interact with the public.

In the following months David would travel to Oakland and support the formation of a local Copwatch group dubbed " The Watchers"

In the wake of the Walter Scott murder, David and company would travel to N. Charleston to help start a Copwatch group.

Then in early May, David would travel to Baltimore to assist Kevin Moore, who filmed the Freddie Gray incident to form a local Copwatch group

David has put his life on the line trying to help communities empower themselves. Now he needs your help. Fighting eviction, David is trying to relocate his family to another apartment in Ferguson so he can continue his work locally and nationally.
If you've watching WeCopwatch, then you know this has been a big year for us, and we couldn't have done it without him.
Thank you David Whitt of the Canfield Watchmen, WeCopwatch representive.
