Tess's Heart

Donation protected
We adopted Tess on the day she was due to be put to sleep at the local animal control.
She was found tied to a fence, with a man's belt around her neck,  left to die. No one showed any interest in adopting her. No one was going to adopt her. So, we did. Tess was not spayed, nor vaccinated and unfortunately, turned out to be HEARTWORM POSITIVE.  We quickly got Tess vaccinated & microchipped. Started her on medication and a good diet. My veterinarian determined that we needed to get Tess healthier before any treatment or surgery could be done.
When I (we) adopted Tess, I was in a commited relatonship of 16 years and financially stable.
6 1/2 weeks after adopting Tess, my relationship ended. It was not my choice or my doing. I did not see it coming. I am now losing everything. My home and everything I've known for the last 16 years. I was not legally married and have no rights to anything, especially financially. I am having to move across country in the next month or so, on a very small amount of money. I am having to start all over, with nothing.
From employment to housing. Everything.
I was a stay at home housewife, free-lance artist and an animal rescue advocate. (I even have a Facebook page under the name of Turk the Rescue Dobie. Turk is my other rescue dog and I built his page in order to help other rescue animals in need by net-working, sharing, cross-posting animals, advocacy issues, fund raisers, events, etc.)
So now, along with losing everything and having to start over, I suddenly find myself financially responsible for both rescue dogs and our rescue cats. People who know me know that my animals come first. Finding new homes for them is not an option. I made a promise to Tess on the day we adopted her. I do not want to let her down. People have already let her down enough.
She needs heartworm treatment. Without treatment, heartworms are 100% fatal. I am seeking financial help for the cost of her heartworm treatment and a 6 month supply of Heartgard & Nexgard for her and for Turk, so I know that they will be on preventative until I'm able to get on my feet, financially. Any amount you can give towards Tess's treatment and vet costs would be appreciated more than you know.
Thank you. Dawn
Tess is healthy now and ready to start her heartworm treatment. Please help me to help her.
