Team Rosita Fights Back

Rosita Rivas is one of the kindest 14 year old girls you will ever meet. She loves people, her family and gives the best hugs. She has a contagious smile and laugh and she loves Jesus with all of her heart.

Rosita has learned to make the most out of the cards life has dealt her. Rosita lives in a garbage dump community in Cristo Rey, Nicaragua and is very sick.

Five years ago, at age 9, she was diagnosed with a disease and the doctors found a polyp in her nostril. It was the first of many tumors that would come. She had surgery to remove the polyp. Upon examination some time later, the polyp had returned. This happened over and over.

The doctor told her there was no cure and that it would only get worse. She would go on to have operations to remove the polyp and every time it returned. They told her she would eventually go blind and die at a young age. The time in between the surgeries has now become shorter and shorter. The care she is receiving, as you can imagine in Nicaragua, leaves much to be desired for someone like her. We would like to see if more can be done.

So our Beautiful Feet family and First Assembly of God in Fort Myers is bringing her to SWFL! She arrives in Miami this week and has an appointment on Friday with an amazing team at Lee Health and the Golisano Children's Hospital. They will run tests to get a thorough diagnosis of what's going on with precious Rosita. We pray that the doctors can find a way to help her. We are praying for a miracle.

On Monday, Rosita will return to Nicaragua; to the literal and actual trash dump she calls home. However, we have the opportunity to change her life.
