Every year we have a cardiac catheterization to ensure her heart is still functioning properly or if there will need to be any changes made to her medicine, any changes to her therapy, and or if there will need to be be any more surgeries/procedures done to her heart.
Well we have a known for a little while that a heart transplant would be needed from what her doctors and staff have discussed with us.
As of now, her results from her catheterization shows her heart is getting worse, and it’s only a matter of time when it will start affecting her physically. We are in the midst of sending paperwork to the hospital we choose to have her at while she will be on the transplant list, and we are just waiting for a response from them and then we will move forward with the transplant waiting process.
The transplant will have to be out of state and it will not be in Louisiana or Mississippi , and the waiting process can be up to 3-6 months to a year. ( yes, she will have to stay at that hospital until they have a donor)
If they do send us home she will have to stay on oxygen at home until we get a response to head to the hospital of our choice.
That’s all I can speak on as of now. As we prepare for our stay in Houston we realize this can be a big expense so anything you can donate will be a big help for my family.
