Thaddeus "T.A.D" Stamps has been an important figure in the local underground music and arts scene in Baltimore.  As the singer for the band Stout, he has toured the world spreading the underground Baltimore sound.  As the founder of DefiantAD, he has produced websites, stickers, tshirts, and designs for national and international artists.  However, his greatest achievement was the birth of his twin children, Decimus and Danica, and his marriage to Hillary.  Tad is a stay-at-home father and manages the daily aspects of the household in addition to managing his band and design company.  Recently, Tad was diagnosed with Cancer of the Lymph nodes and is undergoing an aggressive form of Radiation therapy.  The treatments he receives take a heavy physical toll on him and are not fully covered by his insurance.  We are seeking to raise funds to help offset the costs of his treatments and to help with baby sitting costs and covering meals for the family.  Your help is greatly appreciated by Tad, his family, and his friends.  Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated, no amount is too small!  Please help us also by spreading the word....

Just a little update since it has been a while. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Tad, Hillary and the kids this past weekend and everyone's spirits are high right now. While unsure of what December's follow up visit will bring, Tad is going all out to take care of business while he's feeling up to it. He's working on some new Stout merch and designs for a new release and is preparing to play the Ottobar benefit we have scheduled on the 28th of November. Please come to the show on the 28th, you won't want to miss this great evening to help us continue to raise funds. We will have auctions for some great items and used clothing and great performances by Supreme Commander, Dead End Boys, Slumlords, and STOUT!!
Special thanks to Erick, Bill, and Doc Jock from Hardcore Cares who donated over $300 to Tad's cancer fund from money they helped raise from a show they put on. These guys selflessly put on shows to help others and go above and beyond to promote underground music and fight animal abuse. Please support them and their shows! We are very close to hitting our target fundraising goal and with your continued support, I'm sure we will surpass it. Thanks to all who have donated or reposted, it really means a lot!

An update from this past weekend.....Tad got some pretty good news resulting from some tests he had performed the week before. Looks like the cancer has not spread and the tumor did respond well to the radiation. Doctors need to keep monitoring him closely to ensure it doesn't spread. They will retreat the tumor in December with Radiation and may also perform surgery afterwards to remove it if necessary.
Saturday night, we had the benefit show for T.A.D. at The Windup Space with Cro-Mags, Next Step Up, WarXGames, and Queensway. The show sold out and there was a great positive vibe throughout the packed club. Lots and lots of old friends came out to support Tad and catch some killer live performances. Despite feeling very beat up from his treatments and general stress, Tad felt well enough to do a surprise appearance with Stout. Stout performed 4 songs after NSU played and the house went absolutely nuts. If you weren't there, you missed something amazing! I spoke to Tad yesterday to ask how he was feeling and surprisingly, he feels 10x better after playing that set than he has in a few months! Hardcore therapy for sure! Thanks to several people who helped make the show possible: Russell at Windup, NGMF brothers: Ike, Noah, Wes, Matt, and Johnny for helping organize and run security, Sammy for helping coordinate with Cro-Mags, the guys from Headbangin Hotdogs for the killer food, and the great bands who came out and donated their time to perform for everyone. Between ticket sales, donations, sales of shirts, and a donation from Windup Space, we raised close to $5600 (coincidentally, this will cover the $5000 bill Tad received on Friday, so couldn't have been more timely!).
We will be hosting another great night of music and fundraising on November 28th at Ottobar with The Slumlords reunion and other special guests who we will be announcing soon. On the 28th we will also have all kinds of great art, services, and other goodies you can bid on so you'll want to bring some loot!

Thank you all for your continued support!

This week Tad underwent a series of tests to assess how the tumor responded to the radiation treatment and to see if the cancer has spread. He received some positive news that the tumor is significantly shrinking as a result of the radiation. They will continue to monitor it at his next check in two months from now. He will get the results of the other tests next week and I will keep everyone posted.

We had a very successful fundraiser at Bertha's in Fells Point this week with Old Blue Eyes, Oldham Boys, Rodney Henry, and DJ Gray. The place was packed with well wishers and Tad and Hillary got out for a much needed evening with friends. We raised nearly $2500 thanks to the good people at Bertha's for agreeing to host the show. We have another benefit show coming up on October 10th with Cro-Mags, Next Step Up, WarXGames, and Queensway at The Windup Space. I hope to see some of you there. As always, thanks for all you do to support be it donations or reposting, it means a lot.

Donations continue to come in and Tad and his family are truly thankful for all of the support. Bands are donating money from merch sales, groups are organizing additional benefits, and people continue to repost and help spread the word. Thank you all very much. Tad is having some additional tests this week including bone marrow and cat scans, which will determine how much and what kind of additional treatments he may need including Chemo, Marrow Transplants, and Stem cell, all options on the table. We are having an intimate benefit on Sept 30th at Bertha's in Fells Point and hope to see some of his friends out having a good time. On Oct 10th we have Cro Mags, Next Step Up, WarXGames, and Queensway playing a benefit at The Windup Space in Baltimore, and more to come so stayed positive and stay tuned - PMA!
