TSA Watch - Start Up Funding

$11,261 of $35,000 goal

Introducing TSA Watch, a new Citizen Watchdog Group that will force the TSA to clean up their act.

Too many of our family, friends, and fellow travelers have been violated by agents of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).  While some may argue the need for federal security at airports, one thing is clear--it is not the American way to sacrifice fundamental liberty for temporary security.  Whenever there are those who use security as an excuse to violate our property, our privacy, or our dignity, there need to be champions brave enough to stand up and draw a line.

We are creating TSA Watch, a new national 501(c)3 non-profit membership organization to advocate for the right to travel without harassment and to be free of unwarranted search and seizure.

There truly is safety in numbers.  Like "Neighborhood Watch" groups around the country, the key is to recruit enough members to make our presence known.  And to do that, we need to get the message out widely—including letting people know that the TSA can’t put you on a “no-fly” list for joining us.  Those lists are handled by the FBI, not the TSA.

With a broad-based membership, both seen and unseen, our very presence can act to deter abuses by agents of the TSA.

And where that is not enough, we will document violations and bring the worst offenders to the attention of the TSA and the public.

TSA Watch will work to educate and organize members to document and even video record the TSA in action.  We will help them to prepare and submit complaints about inappropriate TSA agent behavior, and to demand compliance with the Fourth Amendment.  And where possible, we will help them to prosecute for theft and molestations, and for other violations of travelers’ rights, dignity, and property.

As an organization, we will use web and phone app tools to collect complaint reports, map hot spots (sources of repeated complaints), and hold the TSA and their agents accountable for their actions.  We will utilize professional tool-sets to document TSA misbehavior including sworn witness testimony, audio and visual recording, and new technologies for tracking items missing from passenger luggage.

Our members will receive articles and videos on how to deal with the TSA, TSA Watch tags and locks for their luggage, and members’ services, including member discussion areas, help filing complaints, and more.  A phone app will be developed to help members through the TSA security zones, document the process, and make filing complaints easy—and more effective.  We will also provide and/or sell products useful for holding the TSA accountable and for promoting TSA Watch, including chips to track items, in-luggage cable locks to prevent theft during searches, and protocols for properly documenting claims.  Other services may include a variety of seminars, litigation classes, legal insurance, legal counsel and other assistance.

To this end, we are seeking donations to create a stalwart legal and multimedia infrastructure.  This is all to prepare for our true public launch, a national multimedia membership and funding campaign.

We are working every day on this mission and seek immediate funding.

Donations are put to use as they are received, and right now are being matched, dollar for dollar, thanks to Cyan Bannister of Zivity.com.

We sure could use your help—even if you think it’s not much.

Your support in this early phase will be put to immediate use, building the legal and multimedia infrastructure for a successful and massive membership campaign.

Ultimately, we will meet or exceed our $1 million and 20,000 member initial target goals, creating a national nonprofit well positioned to defend our rights.  The more help we receive now, the sooner we will reach these goals and make the real difference we can.

Our founding Director is Evan Cutler, who organized and led Alaskans for Ron Paul in 2008 and 2012.  Evan also directed, fundraised and established the legal structure for the National DVDs for Delegates Project in 2008.   He currently works with a small and growing team of volunteers.

Also, we are actively growing our non-profit's Board while we raise funds.  If you are interested in becoming a part of our board, please contact us to let us know why you feel you might be a good match.

Likewise, if you have other ways to help that don’t fit into the GoFundMe system, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.   We accept BitCoin, Checks, Wire, ACH, and just about any legal means of money, crypto currency, goods, or services donations.

Even if you can't donate, please visit our website at www.TSAWatch.org; we are working on increasing functionality there almost every day.

You can also write to us with questions, suggestions, or concerns with an email via GoFundMe.

With your assistance, we can protect Americans’ rights and prevent the TSA from violating our liberties.

There is no time like the present.  Please feel free to donate whatever you wish, here on GoFundMe, right now.

How can we thank you for your support?  Anyone who donates $5 or more will get free membership for two years, and the phone app for free once it's developed.   Donations of $50 or more will receive the phone app and lifetime Charter Memberships to TSA Watch, for as long as we need to exist.  Donations of $500 or more will earn you a spot on our Honorary Charter Advisory Board, if you want one.

Another way to help us gain momentum is to invite your friends to check out our project, and share a link to this page in the online gathering spots you feel it would interest people.

Together, we can and will make an important difference.

Thank you in advance for your help in making this project a reality!

Most Sincerely,

Evan Cutler, Founding Director, TSA Watch

Hello Everyone!

First, I'm pleased to announce we have a winner for the new TSA Watch logo. We had over 50 designs submitted, from over 25 people on for continents, but there was one designer who stood above the rest.

He gave us several versions of the basic design, and we'd love your input so we can narrow down the final design.

Please vote and comment as soon as you can if you want to; I am going to announce the winner tonight, if possible, finalize the design, and start using it soon.

The following design got an average of 4.8 stars (out of 5), with 7 volunteers voting. No other design came above 4.0 average—so nothing is close.

Please look closely and share any other thoughts on fonts, colors, alignment, angles of the stripes, the space between the sides of the eye, the stars or lack of stars, and so on?

Click this link to get started: http://www.designcrowd.com/vote/winning-so-far-logo-with-5-versions-

You don't have to leave your name or email to vote...only I will see your comments, but that website will put you on their list if you share your email.

** Also, this is important. Do you prefer this winning design in general, to our current logo, seen on our videos and website? I do. But we'd love to know what you think.

Thank you so much!

Evan Cutler

TSA Watch Logo Re-Design Contest – $200 Prize !

Do you know any graphic/logo designers who like money and do creative work?

As we prepare for our new national media campaign, just a couple weeks off, we want to do all we can to help with our first impressions. Our current logo has been good for now, but we want something more professional, less scary, and in color.

To that end, we just posted our Logo Design Contest announcement for TSA Watch on www.DesignCrowd.com a popular design site.

The Prize is $200. Tell them to hurry–the contest is just 5 days long!

Here is the link to our particular contest: http://jobs.designcrowd.com/job.aspx?id=1321305

Thanks to everyone for sharing this information with graphic artists--and doing it right away.

But most of all, thanks to everyone who continues to support this project.

We are using some of your donations to improve our image!

This means we will also invite you to see the contest submissions and share your impressions. Contest deadline is next Tuesday, so expect an invite as we see designs coming in.

If we don't like what we see by the contest deadline, we can always extend it....but we hope to see something we like soon so we can incorporate it into our website before our media release campaign begins in ten days...

Well, there's an update for you.

May you each be well, and enjoy your liberty!

Our Largest Contribution Yet!
Thanks To Cyan Banister, CEO Of Zivity.

More good news! TSA Watch offers our sincere thanks to Cyan Banister, CEO of Zivity ( www.zivity.com) for honoring the first phase of her $5,000 matching grant.

Since her match offer last month, TSA Watch has received $2,030 in contributions, and today she doubled that, as promised! If you have a chance, please thank Cyan for being our biggest contributor!

That leaves room for $2,970 more in dollar-for-dollar matching contributions available! Please tell your friends!

You may be wondering how we will be spending that match.

Well, we are going to start reaching out in the media, with a news release blitz and radio show interview campaign letting the world know we exist.

Commencing after the first new radio interviews, we will also be initiating a series of public volunteer teleconference meetings–and you are all invited to join us.

We are also going to be experimenting with certain SEO tools and keyword advertising, so more people can find us, more easily.

These are all crucial steps to funding and volunteer recruitment effort so we can expand the working team to accelerate our progress and meet the goals described in our videos and on our website. Stay tuned for more on that.

In the meantime, thanks again to Cyan Banister! Your help means the world to us!

I am retired military. I would be eligible for TSA Pre Check while on active duty but the day I retired after more than 20 years of service I am no longer trustworthy according to TSA, How can I be trustworthy one day and the next not trustworthy? Apparently over 20 years of service to ones country means nothing to TSA!
