What’s an Irishman Doing in South Carolina?
Vincent Coyle is starring in a new film, but his involvement started before he was born. How is that possible? Vinny’s father, Vincent Coyle Senior, was an active member in the civil rights movement of Northern Ireland. Like father, like son – now Vinny has partnered with Terrence Gallman for the film adaptation of Gallman’s play There Is No Right Way to Do Wrong. (www.terrencegallman.com and list of works.)
Things are moving quickly to bring to the screen the story of young people caught up in crime, civil rights, overcoming oppression, and the importance of education and reconciliation. Coyle’s character is based on real-life events, of becoming a mentor for a young black man and helping him discovers his real potential – even with the stigma of being an ex-convict.
Which Bring Us To: A Film in Production!
What better way to tell a story than in film? With a completed film script (adapted from the stage play) and a dedicated core team, we’re now making a powerful, groundbreaking film offering audiences an entertaining-yet-heart-wrenching look at criminal indictments and grand jury proceedings, while highlighting the harsh effects of crime and criminal activity on individuals, families and communities that people make unconsciously when they are disenfranchised in pursuit of economic inclusion. Viewers will not only witness the unforgiving realities ignorance and disenfranchisement that influences criminal decisions but also the unflinching realities inmates go through when incarcerated. This motion picture will make people aware of the real costs of crime, including its long-term consequences, how some groups are targeted, and how communities shape mindsets, making its members more susceptible and predisposed to a criminal mentality that undo all the rights and opportunities the civil rights movement have open doors for them for.

The film provides a commanding reminder of just how vulnerable we are, and how the raw and explicit experiences of prison life can wreak havoc on families, individuals, relationships, businesses, and ultimately, society. Terrence L Gallman – An ex-convict who reinvented himself into a writer and advocate for successful re-entry, reformed criminal justice, and a champion for self-starting second chances.

John Hume – Historical Civil Rights Legend, Noble Peace Prize Laureate Winner and endorser of the Gallman/Coyle partnership
Ivan Cooper – Historical Civil Rights Legend, founding member of the SDLP and subject of the film Bloody Sunday

As we said, films are expensive to produce. Our $1-million goal may seem impossible, but if a boy who was otherwise destined to a life of crime and prison can turn things around and become a literary and social agent for change (and partner with an international actors, civil rights legends, activists, and) – what is impossible??
