Support Nepali National Cricketers

Dear Friends,
My name is Rakesh Karn (Rocky) and i am a former Cricketer from Nepal and a U17 National Champion in 2003. I have been residing in US for over 12 years and currently play domestic league in Dallas, TX. I love cricket and most importantly i love Nepali Cricket and the Nepali National Cricket Team.
Over the years we have witnessed Nepali Cricket Team soaring to new levels and most recently we achieved the milestone of qualifying for the T20 World Cup in 2014. Cricket in Nepal has seen many accomplishments and has defied many odds. We are simply getting better and better! Our players have done so much for our nation and for this beautiful sport and they deserve a lot of praise and accolade. The reason for this fundraiser is to allow these players with more opportunities and more exposure.
Every year US hosts major cricket tournaments during summer. International players from all over the world (India, Pakistan, Srilanka, West Indies, etc.) are invited and they represent several participating teams. These players are primarily here to promote Cricket in US however in doing so they are competing against the best cricketers in highly competitive tournaments. This allows players to get better and hone their skills while competing against each other. I have taken the initiative to bring Nepali National Cricketers to US where they will be given opportunity to compete at the highest stage and play against fierce competitors.
The money raised for this cause will be used to secure funds for the expenses of bringing these National Heroes to US. The primary focus is to raise money for the registration fees, travel expenses and accommodation. We have reached out to several corporate houses here in Dallas however we do understand that individual contributions can make a huge impact in reaching our goal.
The nearest tournament is in September. This tournament will be hosted by North Texas Cricket Association (NTCA) in Dallas, TX. The tournament will last for two months and we need to collect funds to ensure proper operation of this campaign.
This campaign holds a lot of value to all the Nepali Citizens, who are proud of what these National Cricketers have done for our great country. Personally, it means a lot to me because i understand what these athletes go through on a daily basis. Nepali domestic structure is in dire state because of politics and bureaucracy. As fellow citizens we need to keep their hopes up and assist them in any way possible. They are in need of international exposure and we can provide them with this great platform. This is a great way to show them that we love them and we are here to support them!
Every penny and every dollar that you contribute and donate for this noble cause will ensure that the players are given proper opportunity. I would like to thank every volunteer, team members and donors in advance for being generous and considerate for this great cause!
